There's no definite set of questions. Worry not.

Hello. Can anyone tell me what are the possible questions during interview with divorce waiver ? I am currently filing my I-751 (ROC). Thank you.

One question I would expect is “did you bring an original or certified copy of  your divorce decree?”

Yes I have the certified copy of our divorce decree. Are they going to get the certified copy or should photocopy it ?

I had an interview for my divorce waiver application,

they did not ask about my divorce decree ( I already submitted copy of my divorce decree) , but I was asked if I had a better copy or original of a document I submitted in the packet, luckily I had!

My divorce just got finalized yesterday and I filed jointly with my ex husband before we divorced and my interview is coming in March. I will switch my joint application to divorce waiver on the day of my interview.

Yes I have evidence to prove our marriage is bonafide.

I’d bring the original and a photo copy.  They shouldn’t need to retain the certified copy

Just wanted to be prepared because my interview is coming.

Best way to prepare is not to overthink or freak out

Just recently went through this. we amended my i-751 to a divorce waiver at the interview.
- Asked for a certified copy of the divorce decree. (they took the photocopy version).

- Asked why the marriage broke down:

If they ask about this, I would try to think about how to describe this other than "breakdown in marriage or irreconcilable differences". As the officer may accept that answer, or they may want more of a detailed explanation. So be prepared for either.

Be tactful in your response, this is not a therapy session. No need to berate or degrade your ex-spouse.

Then they will run through all the questions in your forms.

Lastly don't over-think it.

Yes IO took a photocopy of our final divorce decree and just asked me what happened. My IO was really good and approved me on the spot.
