Hello everyone,

Feb 22 filer here.  My wife received a notice that her AOS case was approved yesterday evening (Chicago office).  She never received her EAD or AP documents.  I just wanted to give everyone hope.  It was almost 11 months to the day.

Same thing that just happened to me!
My EAD and AP - still no news but just got approved of AOS.

Congrats!! No need for AP or EAD now (they will be cancelled).

Does this mean I can travel immediately once I receive the green card?

p.s. - Asking as I'm desperate to see my family :( and hopefully get to see my aunt soon.

p.p.s - (sorry asking as I was always confused about this - AP etc and all the separate forms).

Yes. The green card will allow you to travel internationally and work. The EAD and AP were designed to allow you to travel and work while waiting for the green card. However, in our cases, they were never received. So, because of receiving the green card, the EAD and AP should move to a status of "case closed benefit received by other means"

Hi all!  GREAT NEWS!

I applied for AOS adjusted for a tourist status mid february 2022
(entered with ESTA , visa waiver program, and we got married here in US in 2021)

We got the first notice of them receiving our packet and then did my biometrics and heard nothing for almost a year after.
Finally got a RFE for medical in december 2022

(I decided not to do at time of application as I heard they were super delayed and backlogged and wasnt sure how long my medical would be valid for)
I got my medical done and sent it back off and they received it January 19th

I got my approval letter in the post last week with no need for interview or anything
and received my permanent resident card today in the mail!

Just wanted to let anyone else that was in the same boat to know, yes it is possible to adjust and marry from a tourist status
and it seems they are not interviewing everyone
Just make sure you include all marriage proof in your packet and be clear and truthful in your application

Thank you also to everyone that has answered me previously on this site, you've all helped tremendously.

Wish you all the best of luck in the process ❤️
it's been a long wait but worth it !

Hey all. We filed on Feb 11th and got verbal approval from the immigration officer. Told us early May 2022 we'd receive it in 2-4 weeks. We still haven't received it and got a notification today of denial for employment authorization. Hopefully that means someone found time to put our cards in the mail?

What did it said exactly on the denial of I-765 ? Is it something about “ we closed the case / got other benefit “ I was wondering if they closed it because u are going to get the GC

Yes, it said "Petitioner received status or benefit through other means". I am impressed with how long it took. I didn't receive a single RFE and got verbally approved within 3 months of filing. Yet somehow, people filing much later than us have green card in hand. Feeling pretty bitter about the experience.

You might probably got GC soon. U are not the only one who got “ghosted” after the interview. Many people reported after the interview, the IO said we are gonna approved u no problem and some of them waited 4 years, 8 months ( 2 of my friends happened to experience this and both of them finally got the GC in 2022 )
