Good morning! 

 

Last week I was feeling ill and I was diagnosed with Covid and was told to isolate for 5 days. I'm fully vaccinated and I'm feeling ok now but my interview is on the 25th. According to the letter if you're diagnosed 14 days before your interview you have to reschedule. The thing is on the 25th it would be 15 days after the day I got the test done. I went ahead and requested to reschedule to play it safe but the agent on the phone told me if I am feeling fine I am free to attend my original  appoinment but he mentioned I might get rejected at the office field.

 

Anyone else with the same issue? Should I go to my interview or wait for them to contact me to reschedule?  Does having a pending reschedule request will impact if they let me inside the building?

 

I don't want to keep waiting but I would hate to travel over an hour to get to my field office to be rejected.

No experience with that but I requested a reschedule and it's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back.

So if you feel fine might be worth going otherwise you might be waiting a long time to get a new appointment.

 

Anyone has any idea what's the usual time to get a new appointment?

Personally, I would go to the original appointment.  15 days is outside the 14 day window.  I see no issues with your going.  You are in compliance with their directives.  I see no reason you would be rejected at the field office.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
