You may check some people's reviews regarding their AOS interview experiences here, some stated time/duration.

Just select a local CIS office (on the right dropdown menu)..

Good luck with your interview!

Well, it can be different. For some people it's 10 minutes, for others - an hour. And don't forget about the waiting - you may be called into the room 2 hours after your appointment time.

The 1-hour+ deals seem to be atypical. From what I've gathered here, interviews last an average of 25-35 minutes. One Family Guy episode, more or less. :)

Ours was about 15 minutes once we got to the interviewer's office. As others have mentioned, it's best to leave some room for error in case they are running late. Our guy was right on time, but a friend of ours had to wait 2 hours past their appointment time on their interview a few months earlier.

I have read on here that they can take between 10-30 minutes.

Can you tell me what documents you are taking with you? Is it basically just relationship/marriage evidence or what? My interview letter only says to bring documents but does not say what kind so I'm worried. I do not want to miss anything. I would greatly appreciate if you could respond to me before Wednesday so I can be at peace LOL. I started a thread about this and NO one answered :(

Thanks in advance and good luck!

These are the things I took to my AOS interview:

photo ID to get through security

appointment letter to get through security

my passport

my EAD card

certified copy of Jerry's divorce decree

updated letter of employment (Jerry's salary changed between the time of filing and the interview)

a copy of our 2004 income tax filing, and copies of Jerry's W-2s (since we filed taxes between the time of filing and the interview)

proof of our ongoing bonafide relationship:

--a selection of wedding pictures (didn't look too much at those)

--a selection of pictures of us together and with various family members since the wedding (I think he went through most of those, but didn't ask us anything specific about them)

--statements of our joint bank accounts -- he confirmed that it was for both chequing and savings. Since I forgot to make photocopies of those, he took one of them (either the earliest or the last, can't remember) since we knew that we could get a replacement copy fairly easily)

--the one bill we have in both our names (DISH Network). He kept the original "welcome to DISH Network" notice, since I forgot to make a copy of it.

--a document confirming Jerry was the beneficiary on my life insurance (took the original again)

--my medical insurance card with both our names on it, and my card from my doctor

--a copy of my bank statement for my Canadian bank account, which is now in my married name and sent to my Tulsa address. He asked why I still had a Canadian account (student loan payments), and once he confirmed that it wasn't a joint account with Jerry, he handed the sheet back to me.

--he asked if we had a lease agreement or mortgage agreement in both our names, which we didn't have. Jerry explained why and he seemed satisfied with that.

And, because I am somewhat of a control freak, my binder full of the paperwork I had completed up to that point, original documents (birth certificates, NOA2, etc etc

Basically, take evidence of your ongoing relationship -- particularly evidence that you share the same domicile, and any other documents that update information originally submitted.

Best wishes for a successful interview! :)

Our AOS July 9th interview in Bloomington, MN lasted 15 minutes. Came 1/2 hour early and were called in ~ correct time. Waiting room had few applicants, mostly for citizenship and some K-1/K-3 couples. Glad we brought extra copies of all filed paperwork for Maria (K-1), Miguel (K-2) and Marc (K-2). Marc's I-485 package got separated from the rest of the family within the USCIS and the interview official took our spare set and proceeded with everyone. Questions were mundane and read off from the forms we filled in, apparently a face-to-face confirmation of our written replies. No requests for additional proof of relationship beyond looking over our official copy wedding certificate and tasking our timeline of how we met up until we married, however at the end we shared our memento book of wedding pictures.
