I'm not the person you asked but I figured it would be good to share what evidence I uploaded. I didn't upload TOO much because my RoC was already approved earlier this year.

1. Joint bank account statements (1 each from 2021, 2020 and 2019). For ROC, I had included 4 bank statements for each year. I got lazy for N400...

2. Taxes (2020, 2019, 2018)

3. Property deed with our names on it

4. Marriage certificate

5. Husband's birth certificate to prove his US citizenship

I also finally applied for a state ID card (I'm not a good driver so I don't have an actual license yet) because I think they will ask for some kind of state ID for the N400 interview. I'm in Los Angeles and my interview was scheduled only 1 week after online filing. 😬

That was so fast! So Happy for you!

I’ll be applying next month under the 3 year rule too. Can you please share what documents did you upload ?

Thank You

Hi.

I included everything that is requested in the website.  Green card, proof of husband citizenship,  3 years of tax returns, proof of  name change, proof of marriage, proof of time away from the country. The application online is very user friendly (in my experience) however I think some questions are worded in a certain way to confuse you.

Best of luck

I did my on paper so had to guess what documents they needed from the list they gave as examples. Some were straightforward like photographs, marriage certificate, divorce, kids, others one has to judge what to include. I don't have my paper receipt yet but you already have an electronic receipt and fingerprint applied, so may be one step ahead of me already.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Hello, chiming in as another online Sept filer. 5 year GC rule, once divorced and did ROC through divorce waiver. Currently married to another USC coming up on our second year.

Boston area, online says biometric reuse and to expect a 13 month turnaround roughly.

I got my paper receipt today. It said my case was under review and i would be called in for fingerprinting if required, told what documents i need to supply if required and when the interview is in separate letters. I still cannot check my receipt online as i lack a access code. I assume i got two letters sent separately, one with the general info and one with the code. For those of you who efiled, can you share what info your letter said. mine also has my name, date of birth and mail to address.

Thanks in advance

Got updated to ~9 month wait on 9/14, one day after filing.

Can you tell me where you get these expected dates from please. It is processing times page on the USCIS website or in your DHS account?, Really happy for you. If someone can share the non-confidential text from the receipt letters that might help if these letters use the same language or are specific to the applicant. Thanks in advance

We just filed a few hours ago and have already received the receipt notice and biometrics waiver notice. As expected, the estimated time until decision is 13 months.

Great, you were able to review your online account almost immediately. I need to wait for my paper receipt access code. What type of language did your letter say, if you don't mind sharing general info. It looks like your ROC was approved alittle sooner than mine (Nov 21 to Sept 21) and you already had biometrics waived, so only interview is left. this timeline of 13 months is this specific to your case or more of a general indicator. I want to know if these time frames are exact or estimates that could shrink depending on the case analyses?

I have to say, my wife (the N400 is actually for her) and I agreed that the online filing made this process WAY easier. I wish they would roll it out for ALL applications. The fact that the requested evidence and questions can dynamically change based on what you enter earlier in the process helps cut down on a lot of the confusion you get with I485 and I751 (to a lesser extent). Add in the fact that we received both the receipt notice and biometrics waiver within a couple hours and it made it even better.

The text on the receipt notice was pretty much standard:

Quote

Thank you for submitting your application, petition, or request. Our office is currently processing it.

Please verify your personal information listed above. If you need to make any changes, immediately notify the USCIS Contact Center using the phone number below.

Next Steps:
• We will schedule you for an appointment at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for you to provide your fingerprints, photograph and/or signature.
• We will mail you a separate biometrics appointment notice with the specific date, time, and ASC location. Please wait until you receive your appointment notice before going to the ASC.

Be advised that this notice does NOT serve as notification of your biometrics appointment.

It continues on from there but is all pretty boilerplate.

The biometrics waiver was word for word identical to the biometrics waiver for ROC.

As for the 13 months, I think the biggest thing is it depends on your local office. Seattle is notoriously one of the slowest offices in the nation. The estimate of 13mo I believe is based upon the current case load at the local office but is prone to changing heavily over time and not being very accurate (at least for the Seattle Office). From what I have seen, Seattle is running around 11-18mo from application to interview.

Thanks Pedro,

I don't recall the wording on my paper receipt but it sounds very similar to your text, except i do remember it said for interview and bio metrics please review back of receipt. I think my was the national benefits service center that issue the IOE and maybe the second notice with the access code to add it to the DHS site has the specific office or a different center. I did get two emails saying action has been taken on your case and login, but i cannot add the file to the DHS and the other check status says case is actively being reviewed. It might be that they accepted the petition, send out the receipts and this is reflected by the emails or something more, such as fingerprint data, or request for additional info. I will not know until i log in and add the paper case or the change status is updated. Either way thank you for sharing. The timeline is from the USCIS processing page and not from the DHS account itself, understood. I got the message from some posts that each petitioner has a timeline indicator in their online accounts. Thanks again

can someone please share if they filed by paper whether their USCIS receipts arrived at the same time, one with petition ID and the other with access code, or say a week apart. I got my first one with IOE number on Tuesday of this week and nothing with the access code. I can request a new access code but that will take 30 days. If some folks got theirs a week apart, then mine second one should be here sometime next week. If they got their the same time, i could call it in and see if they mailed both and can remail the second one again.

Thanks

I am not sure what you mean by DHS site. We have two sites which we check:

  • egov.uscis.gov - the old tracking system.
  • my.uscis.gov - the new tracking system where you can also apply online.

For all other applications, we check both because they seem to update at different times and sometimes with slightly different info. That being said, for N-400, my.uscis.gov is the most useful.

I am not sure if it is because we applied online or what but under the status for the N-400 there are three tabs (Case Status, Case History, Documents) instead of the usual two (Case Status, Case History) plus an estimated processing time. The Documents sections is where we downloaded the Receipt Notice and Biometrics Waiver.

egov.uscis.gov for N400 just states "Case is actively being reviewed by USCIS".

Got the paper receipt with access code today (Fri) and a second notice saying fingerprint has been applied from prior file. I meant dept. homeland security website (my.uscis.gov). I did send copies of bills etc and under Other I see one scanned bill. In your opinion should I upload the packet i mailed them matched to specific items listed in guide, such as 'proof spouse is US Citizen', upload copy of passport, proof of marriage copy of marriage certificate etc. Or shall i leave it alone. It listed 13 months using 5 year rule and national benefits center
