Freddie Mercury is the best by far, even if you gave us 1,000 choices, as far as vocals.

Jim Morrison is also a favorite, otherwise cause I am just kind of a groupie of sorts.

Songwriter-wise......Adam Duritz (of the Counting Crows).....he is THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!

I would vote but...there are so many other rockers a helluva lot better than the ones listed. Steve Perry??? Ann and Nancy Wilson??? Ozzy Ozbourne??? IMHO I suppose Freddie Mercury would be a good one, but the ones I listed are my personal favourites. :)

I think Robert Plant has the best voice ever but...............since I am a HUGE Doors fan, I voted for Mr. Mojo Risin' :P

I think Lou Gramm of Foreigner had much wider vocal range, but I don't think skill alone is what makes a lead vocalist great.

I have to admit that's true too Steven...Foreigner is another one of my favourite bands. Having a wide vocal range does make a difference. Still...Steve Perry has the number one spot for me. :)

Here's a survey of greatest male rock vocalists. Freddie Mercury tops their list:

And the women's list, headed up by the great Janis Joplin:

He's a mess. I saw a Behind the Music on him. He's almost a recluse now.

That has got to be the funniest comment I have seen in a long time. Very clever.
