She got sick and went to the airport and tested positive rapid antigen test going back to Cebu. Daughter tested negative. They are at an off the grid hotel in Ermita near Robinsons since all of the online places require negative covid test. Rebooked her for next Tuesday. She is pretty miserable right now with fever.

Sorry to hear that, man. It's bad enough to be stranded in Manila, but to be sick while it's happening... Unfortunately, I know what that feels like from personal experience. You said you rebooked her for next Tuesday - is there not a certain amount of time the airport requires her to quarantine before she comes back? Is it just a week?

She told me they said 5 days, but good point I will double check.

Unbelievable

Why? I mean it sucks for her but I wouldn't want be on a plane with a covid (or anything really) sick pax. I don't buy the airline industry line that flying is safe because the air is super filtered and refreshed. If that were true it would be ok to smoke.

Don't fly then if you're so afraid of germs. Don't force others not to fly because of your fears. Germs are everywhere and we have to live with it. That's reality.

True but testing positive for covid or the regular flu or TB. Is another matter.  I don't believe masks do a bloody thing.

That's my view on mask mandates and possible vaccine mandates to fly. We are planning a trip to visit my wife's family in the Philippines next year and we wont be going if vaccines are required. Sad my wife hasn't seen her family in 5 years and we might have to wait longer because of paranoid control freaks.

I hope she feels better soon.  It's really is difficult times. Hopefully she can lay low and just wait it out. If she cant go out and needs groceries metromart.com was a big help when my wife was stuck on travel quarantine.  You can order online delivery from Robinsons Supermarket, S&R or other places in Manila.

Thanks. She has friend there taking care of her and her daughter. Also, they moved to an apartment just in case she is there for a while. However, she is starting to feel better. No fever for more than 24 hours so far.

All the obstacles he has to overcome is why it's unbelievable, it's time for him and his fiance to catch a break.

I have smoked on a plane a few times, flying from New York to London back in the day it was just smoking in a test tube...
