Now that after 20 years I have applied for my Citizenship in Dec 2020 and got interview date,  I was sitting and contemplating my immigration struggles in this country. I started to wonder if during the N400 interview, will they bring it up and ask questions about it?

I came in 2000 on H1b visa, my employer at the time started GC process in 2003, that process did not end well after 4-5 years of lawyers fee and appeals to USCIS etc. Changed my employer in 2010, filed again, lawyer made bad judgement call and filed my case GC in wrong labor category, which then again started the process of RFE, appeals and MTR, got denied again. Then finally in 2015, my employer again sponsored my case with correct labor category which got approved in 6 months and got my GC in 2016. Off-course what I wrote is just a tiny summary of trial and tribulations that I went through in 20 years of my journey. I was never once out of status during this process. I work in a highly demanded IT field. Let's just say I had bad luck all along when it comes to immigration. I was never out of status during this whole saga , no criminal background , no speeding ticket in last 10 years.

I am wondering if any of it will have negative impact during interview or am I overthinking ? Please advise.

I don't see any issues as long as you weren't out of status any time.

Overthinking.

Most people only get scrutinized for GC once or twice but you have to do it three times, and you're still here 18 years later. If they found something, they should already have had by 2016 imo. Just go to the interview with the mindset that even with an nth look, they won't find anything wrong with your GC applications.

I worked 2.5 years with that employer after I got my GC through him.

Cool.  That should be plenty.  Bring documentation of that to the interview. Also preserve that documentation for eternity.
