Today we received an email from NVC stating the following:

Dear Sir/Madam,

 

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Santiago is willing to expedite this case when we have received and reviewed all fees, forms, and once case is documentarily completed.

 

If you have not already done so, please pay your fees and submit Form DS-260 at https://ceac.state.gov . Follow instructions from NVC to submit your Affidavit of Support Form (if applicable) and civil documents.

 

Please note that only the U.S. Embassy or Consulate has the ability to approve or deny expedite requests.

 

 

Does anyone know if it means we have been expedited or not?

Is there a downside to requesting an expedite? 

 

Let's say they reject the request? Are they going to put you in the bottom of the stack just because you wasted their time? LOL

 

We've been DQed since August of last year, but still no interview schedule, hence I want to explore this option.

can you please tell me what is the procedure of expedite what we need to show for this service ?? im waiting for DQ submitted documents on 18 August for my parents mine will be islamabad embassy

There is no downside of requesting an expedite and there no such thing as bottom of the stack.

We were DQ'd Oct 29 2021. We're planning to request for an expediate on medical grounds. Since we're already DQ'd, should we send the expediate request to NVC or to the Mumbai consulate (where we will interview.)? I'm confused about this part. So grateful if you could clear this up.

You have to send your request to NVC. They will forward your request to the Mumbai consulate.
