Expedite Eligibility

We are currently petitioning for my mum (UK citizen) to move to the US. She was DQ'd about a month ago. We desperately need here here by mid-August as she plans to be our full-time nanny and there is currently no childcare openings in our area, with long waitlists, and the prices are comparable to our mortgage payment.

Would we be eligible for an expedite request on the basis she will be providing childcare for us?

Thanks in advance for reading.

You need to show a hardship to the USC and it sounds like you are able to build a case for financial hardship to yourself .  This place lays it out fairly simply. It just happened to be the first google hit when I was wanting an official state Dept page. https://baileyimmigration.com/national-visa-center-expedite-requests-for-consular-process-cases/

Submit data of costs from daycares and something from places that says no vacancies to build a better case..

This is a family reunification visa not  a work visa.

I would give it a try! Include everything you can - maybe emails from daycare providers stating they are full etc and make a case that it would greatly assist your family in terms of emotional and financial. Of course it is not a work visa but family support really helps and financial hardship is one of the reasons and this ties in.  I would just send as much as you can with a clear explanation.  The worst they can say is no...

My mom was Dq'd in Jan and my dad in March and we received their interview yesterday for August 3rd.  Just for info if it helps at all.  It seems a lot of marriage ones got interviews with similar DQ times as my parents.

Hi! Anybody here whose expedited request got approved by London US embassy? How long did it take for your case to be transferred from NVC to embassy? When did you schedule your appointment? Can we schedule even if our case is still “at NVC” or we have to wait til it becomes “Ready” in ceac? Thank you in advance for your response.

Our second expedite request was approved, took 2 and a half days for my dad's to show there and 3 for my mum's which was weird when we got the expedite approval emails at the same time. Just create the ceac account and try to schedule and see if it works. That's what we did

So we got the email it was sent then we made the ceac login and  I tried scheduling it most of the night for them both, then my dad took over while I slept a couple of hours cause of the time change, it just eventually worked and it was before the website showed it being there.
