Address Change during ROC

I just changed my address online, and it directly asked me if I have anything filed currently, as I have I-751 I entered that information.

What I am curious is, is there any need for me to file a separate one to update my green card address? or they will update all related to my alien number?

* I am having extremely hard time posting for some reason, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I updated my new address by sending an AR-11 Form ( This didn’t do anything) then I changed it online. Changing it online was tricky, it would change momentarily, because the minute I would log back in, my old address showed up. I recommend you keep checking online to make sure your address as been indeed updated and when your USCIS status changes, keep an eye on mail. When your status changes, it clearly says that if you don’t get a notice by a specified date, to inform them ☺️

AR-11 for you is enough in theory. I highly suggest keeping confirmation page, and keep the record of confirmation email if you get any, then calling uscis and reconfirm one more time if address is changed. After doing all these, please note that uscis still may send your notices to your old address so keep an eye on online case status, and sign up to Usps informed delivery, and  sign up mail forwarding service and then extend this service if you will still not be done with i-751 by then.

Your sponsor (spouse) should also file i-865 for sponsor's address change if you moved together. I-865 is paper filed.

Thank you! It’s good to know at least in theory I don’t have to do it again. I’ll call them in a couple of weeks to see what they have in file.

yes we sent the I-865. I’ll keep an eye on the address change I feel like they send a notice as well but couldn’t remember.

I randomly saw this post, and oh man I wish I had seen it earlier…

My ROC is LIN(Nebraska center), and since the submission I have moved to California last year, I filed the change of address online and also received the confirmation from USCIS for address changes. We didn’t file and mail I-865…

Any suggestion on if I should send now and maybe attach a letter to explain that we didn’t know we need to send this form?

Thanks in advance!

Ugh, I did a little more research, there seems to be a $250 -$2000 fine associated to the late I-865 filing … Somehow I just forgot about this form even though some VJ mentioned about it previously …

I honestly think you'll be fine. What I would do is to file it now (I think it's by mail) with a short note stating that you moved to California, and that you did file the AR-11 but forgot to file the I-865 and you apologize. That's it.

Thanks for replying!!

We did mail it out the 2nd day after we realized we only did AR-11 but not the I-865. Probably not going to expect any receipt back or case center change….
