What are the current restrictions when re-entering the US? (USC and Spouse)

If this is the wrong place to post this, please let me know!

What does the situation look like in terms of re-entering the US after travel to Europe currently?  Me and my husband would like to visit family in my home country this summer (we are both vaccinated so no worries there) but we are not sure if we are able to re-enter without issues?

From what I understand, it shouldn't be an issue since he is a USC and I will likely either have my green card at that point or my AP which would still allow me to re-enter since I am a spouse. Additionally, I read that we will have to provide negative Covid tests which shouldn't be an issue. I am more so wondering if there are any specific restrictions since we will be coming from Europe.

Obviously things might change as more people get vaccinated but we just wanted to get a feel for the current situation. We won't book anything until we are 100% that we will be able to re-enter without issues.

Travel restrictions depend on the state you are travelling to.  For example, MA requires 10 day quarantine unless fully vaccinated or a negative covid test result, plus other exemptions (critical worker, etc.)

Please be sure to have your AP before LEAVING the US.  If you leave without your AP or greencard, your I-485 will be deemed abandoned.

Oh of course. We are not booking anything until I get the AP or green card. Not worth that risk!!

It seems like I should be fine based on my states specific restrictions. Thank you!

My husband (GC holder) and I (USC)  just returned from visiting his family in Lithuania. We had to have COVID tests in both directions, especially as we flew through Germany and everyone has to COVID test for entrance into Germany- even if you aren’t even leaving the airport (definitely check the requirements for any layover countries, this was the most stressful part). We also had to bring our marriage certificate along so I would be allowed into Europe as the spouse of an EU citizen, so don’t forget that bit! They did check our marriage certificate at the check in counter.

Coming home was no problem, we just showed up at the airport a bit early in Vilnius, Lithuania and had a rapid COVID swab done, cost was €40 per person. I’m sure the larger airports in Sweden will offer a similar service. They emailed us the negative results and we checked in for our flight. They checked the results again in Germany before we boarded to the U.S., and that was that. Landed and breezed right through customs.
