Hi ... it looks like our petition may be been moved from the Nebraska Processing Center to the Potomac Processing Center.  Does anyone know how long the Potomac Center is taking right now?  Our receipt date is August 8 2020.  I've checked the USCIS Processing Time but was wondering if that was completely accurate or if anyone has any information.  Oh yeah ... US Citizen filing for Spouse.  Thank you in advance.

The problem with ours is we don't know where it is! My USCIS account says Nebraska & my receipt notice say Nebraska but when I messaged through my account they said check Potomac processing times.

Same here! NOA1 from Nebraska, ask Emma agent told us it's in Potomac but didn't sound too sure about it. This whole extended wait time would be a lot easier if they just gave us a few updates and did

Thanks ... I've done that and it is saying 1st December 2019.  I'm just wondering if that is really where they are at or if anyone has any personal experience or if there has been any data collected regarding how long it is actually taking as the Potomac Service Center isn't listed with the other service center processing times on this site.

Yes, that is really where it's at at Potomac. Buckle in for a long wait at Potomac! Actually, people tracking on here have only so far tracked approvals dating Aug 2019. So the Dec 2019 date is even better (if you can call it that).

We are filing our I-130 petition, US Citizen for Spouse.  It looks like some of the data I've found on the site suggests they are about at May 2020 for those?

Ahh, then scratch what I said above then. The Aug 2019 processing timeline I mentioned if for ROC. Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully your I-130 at Potomac moves faster than the ROCs!

I don't know if it's necessarily true or not, but I have heard of several people who get a case transferred and it actually ends up getting approved relatively soon after the transfer. I have also heard that the USCIS tries to stick to the original service center's estimates (I don't know if this is true at all, but I have heard it a few times).

 

Either way the fact that it was transferred at least means it's not sitting idly. I don't think it will slow you down.

Click on the link that says "processing times" at the top of the forum and you can see data from VJ users for each of the centers, and how it has changed over time.

 

Edit: just noticed that Potomac is not included for some reason.

Oh. Seems like California, Vermont and Potomac are the worst currently (ours is at California).

Here is a recent video of a lawyer discussing processing times in general. He addresses how we're all feeling.
