Philippines Brother In Law Living in Saudia Arabia.

My brother in law is working as an overseas worker in Saudia Arabia. His contract is up in December and he'd like to visit my wife and our family.

Would he process the visa in Saudia Arabia but at the Philippines consulate there? Or should he wait to go home to the Philippines and then attempt to process from there?

I will be going to look up requirements next. This is just in case there are some shortcuts since he's not current in the PI.

Thanks in advance, and thanks again for helping Emely and I out 9 years, and two daughters ago!

If he wants a US visa he needs a US embassy. Normally if he is living there he can interview at the US embassy there. If I understand correctly that he wants to visit you after his contract is up - would have to say, if his contract is up and he will not be returning to there it is highly unlikely  he will be granted a B visa by the embassy there. He needs to show reasons to return outside the US, no job, possibly no permanent address at that stage, implies very low chance of being granted a visa.  Possibly better chance in PI as I assume he at least has a permanent address there, but what ties will he have to show there at that stage either?

If he is looking to visit on his way back home Saudi would seem the logical place.

Your BIL needs to apply for a US visitor visa at the US Embassy.  The Philippines Embassy is not involved.

He can apply at the US Embassy in SA or in the PI.  He needs to show strong ties to his foreign home to overcome the presumption that every applicant intends to illegally immigrate to the US.  With most US embassies and consulates not processing visitor visas right now, he will have to wait awhile for a visa interview.

He will apply for a B2 visa at the nearest US embassy or Consulate to where he lives. The Philippine embassy has nothing to do with this
