Hi, it says on the list "The originals and copies of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep your originals for our records." Do they mean to reprint the entire 485? I dont care if they keep everything from our original application.

Also, For the I-693, my husband did the medical in London in February 2020. Does that suffice? We can bring all this medical information from that appointment in London with us

It also says for the I-864, to bring unless already submitted. We submitted that with the AOS application in May. So we shouldn't need to bring it again?

I-693 not needed if London medical was marked complete and there were no Class A medical conditions: https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-8-part-b-chapter-3

K or V Nonimmigrants Applying for Adjustment [26]

K and V nonimmigrants applying for adjustment of status are not required to repeat the medical examination if the application was filed within one year of the date of the original medical examination, and:

  • The medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition; or

  • The applicant received a conditional waiver in conjunction with the K or V nonimmigrant visa or the change of status to V and the applicant submits evidence of compliance with the waiver terms and conditions. [27]

If a new medical examination is required and reveals a Class A medical condition, a new waiver application will also be required. In such cases, the officer should determine whether the applicant complied with the terms and conditions of the first waiver, if applicable. Such determination should be given considerable weight in the adjudication of a subsequent waiver application. [28]

Even if a new medical examination is not required, applicants must still comply with the vaccination requirements if the vaccination record was not included as part of the original medical examination report. If the vaccination report was properly completed at the time of the overseas examination, the officer may accept the vaccination assessment completed by the panel physician.

An applicant’s overseas medical examination report completed by a panel physician should already be in the applicant’s A-file. If it is not in the A-file, the officer should request the medical examination report through a Request for Evidence (RFE).

Thank you very much for confirming. Sounds like my husband and I are good to go!

Hi, I am posting my questions here because no one in the AOS forum answered me.

Hi, it says on the list "The originals and copies of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep your originals for our records." I assume I dont need to reprint the entire 485 and all supporting documents, because they will have it in front of  them, correct? I don't care if they keep everything from our original application.

Also, For the I-693, my husband did the medical in London in February 2020. Does that suffice? We can bring all this medical information from that appointment in London with us - Answered, we do not need to get a new medical as he got it done (London Feb 2020) within a year of filing for the AOS and everything was done/approved vaccination wise but we will bring everything from that appt anyways (vaccination worksheet)

It also says for the I-864, to bring unless already submitted. We submitted that with the AOS application in May. So we shouldn't need to bring it again? - I am assuming no, but wanted to ask again

For the I-94,  My husband printed that off originally and gave to officer at entry point in Chicago. We went to the gov site  to get it but since my husband has left the country since arriving last October (funeral on the AP) it has that information and not his arrival in March 2020. - I assume we are fine as it is the most recent I-94. We also have a photo copy of the stamp he arrived on in his passport, his boarding pass, the I-94 historical record of traveling and the K-1 visa in his passport he came on.

For photos, do they prefer hand held ones or I was thinking of putting them in a word doc like I did on the K-1 application - does it matter? We dont have any with friends from this year given COVID - I assume they wont be picky on that?

Thanks,

Caitlin

It asks for the most recent I-94 and you can also print his travel history if you want to. He has to bring his passport anyway that's where they'll see the stamp when he was originally admitted under the K1.

For the photos do it as you want. Storage is expensive so doing it like you did for the K1 is fine. PowerPoint is easier for putting photos together than Word. Just saying 😉 you can only bring what you have. Just like for the K1 every little piece adds to the whole story so don't worry about photos without friends.

No one was answering me on the AOS one, so I added new information to it in the England thread that I have been in for years. Where is my post now? I dont see it anywhere.

If income situation hasn't significantly changed then don't bring an updated I-864.

My husband got a job a month ago, but we have printed out proof it is a real job/offer letter/copy of his first paycheck

If you make enough money to support him there's no need to change the I-864 to include his income. And if nothing big has changed for you there's no need to change it like mentioned above. USCIS also doesn't need proof of his job. They'll just add it to his job history at the interview. I brought my paystubs but more to add it to the relationship part since it's addressed to our address.

Yeah, I found this really weird. They should have either rejected the application or sent a RFE if the i-864 was missing. At my interview today, the only thing the officer asked for was our passports, a copy of my wife's vaccination list from the physician, and the appointment letter for our interview.
