Unfortunately they all do that... just means it was received and they’ll get around to looking at your petition in around 12 months..

REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE FOR I-130

Hello everyone,

 

i applied for my father in Dec ( who lives in india ). Got letter says FATHER'S PATERNITY AND LEGITIMATION. they're asking for my parents marriage certificate.

my parents got married in 1978 according to hindu ritual but not registered. my mother is deceased so their is no way we can get it.

any help will be appricated !!!

Did you submit your birth certificate? Does it shows both your parents’ names?

Can you get letter from religious organization which performed the marriage?

Do you have other legal documents where both your parents names are listed?

Yes i did submit my birth certificate with both parents name on it ... my mom death certificate... but i did not include any affidavit or letter from friends and family who attended the wedding..

i submitted i130 for my mother back on Dec 7 and still do not hear anything yet. 
case is processed in Texas service center. 
Is I130 petition for parent is IR5?

Following this topic since I filed on November 25th and my case was officially dated as of December 2nd. Recently hit the fifth month of waiting and requested the update through email. Let's see how long this will take
