Good day! I hope you are all having a good start of the year.

I can't find a timeline/progress discussion for December 2020 filers so I created one.

I know it's too early to create a thread like this but seeing someone whose application is moving makes me hopeful and at peace.

For anyone who filed their AOS application in December 2020, please feel free to share your progress in this thread!

Thank you and good luck to all of us!

Our journey so far for concurrent filing of I-130 & I-485 with I-765 & I-131:

03/19/2021: Biometrics Taken

04/12/2021: I-765 & I-131 were approved

04/14/2021: Combo card arrived

04/19/2021: SSN arrived

09/29/2021: Interview scheduled for 10/28

We finally received our interview notice! :)

Any advise for the interview esp in San Diego, CA area?

Common questions?

Additional documents that are needed?

Thank you.

Concurrent filing of I-130 & I-485 with I-765 & I-131:

Current Visa: B2

Service Center: NBC

ASC: Yakima, WA

Priority Date: 2020-12-07

2020

2020-12-02 - Mailed via USPS.

2020-12-06 - USPS tracking reports delivery to Chicago Lockbox.

2020-12-07 - 130, 131, 765, 485 Priority date (as reported by the NOA letters).

2020-12-11 - USCIS case status website shows the biometrics fee was accepted (as reported by the 485 tracking number).

2020-12-15 - Bank reports payment checks cashed.

2021

2021-01-02 - NOA letters (all four of them) received. NOA dated 2020-12-21. Despite requesting it via G-1145, we never received any electronic communication confirming receipt.

2021-01-30 - Biometrics appointment letter received.

2021-02-17 - Biometrics appointment (Yakima).

2021-03-26 - Website showed I-485 status update: We are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, for an interview.

2021-03-29 - Received I-693 (medical report) courtesy letter, printed on yellow paper.

2021-08-23 - Website showed I-765 status update: We ordered your new card.

2021-08-24 - Website showed I-765 status update: We approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.

2021-08-24 - Website showed I-131 status update: Case Was Approved.

2021-08-26 - Website showed I-765 status update: We mailed your new card your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, directly to the address you gave us.

2021-08-27 - Website showed I-765 status update: Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service

2021-08-28 - Received I-131 Notice Of Action letter stating AP has been approved and the card will be mailed separately.

2021-08-30 - Received combined EAD and AP card.

2021-09-09 - Contacted local Social Security Administration office to inquire about status of issuing an SSN. Appointment made for same day and we went in person to apply for a SSN. This shouldn't have been necessary as we checked the box to automatically issue a SSN on the I-765 application, but the agent confirmed the ball gets dropped between the two agencies regularly. The agent just needed the EAD card and the process was complete in 5 minutes. Social security card was dispatched via mail.

2021-09-20 - SSN card received.

2021-10-29 - Website showed I-485 status update: Interview Was Scheduled
2021-11-01 - Called USCIS and agent informed us the interview date is 2021-12-07.

Congrats on the interview scheduling. I am curious to know if you requested to Expedite your interview? I am also in WA and the processing cases for I-485  family based are dated back in july/2019 so I was just curious if they are moving faster now?!

No, we didn't request to expedite. Our case is being processed through Yakima, perhaps it's out-of-the-way location is a benefit in this situation.

Way too many variables to give you a useful answer.

Barring any issues or requests for more evidence, I would say it's about 8 months. At least mine was and those of many others.

Does anyone knows if you move to a different state and you update the address if the case goes to the bottom of the wait list at the new location? We are moving twice in the next year and a half due to military orders and with the delays we are seeing at the office in Seattle area I am pretty sure we won't get my mom's case finalized here so looking for others input if anyone has had that experience.

I don’t know for certain but I changed state and got my interview appointment a few weeks later so think it sped things up for me.

Any movement on your case in Nashville?

I had my interview last Dec. 13, 2021 and got my green card a week after. It was a very smooth interview as the officer is so kind. As for documents, she asked us what documents we want to give her. We were confused to what particular docs she wants to see, so we asked what docs she needs and she said anything like proof of relationship. My husband (US citizen) was not interviewed, the officer said it’s mainly for the show only why he’s required to come.

Congratulations! And thanks for the info!

I'm in Nashville as well, it's been radio silence for myself and a lot of people as far as I can see online. You're the first person I see online in the past couple months who have had some movement on their case, which is great. Looks like they are 12 months apart right now b/w filing date and interview. When did your status change to "Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview", if you don't mind me asking?
