So I tried the DHL hack that lets you track your case from NVC to consulate and was excited to see that it was scheduled for delivery today at Montreal consulate.

But I’m really stressed now because when I updated it to see if they got it or not, it said recipient refused delivery?? I have a feeling this might be because Montreal very recently changed their mailing address so they might still have the old one. So now I’m stressing out because even though I obviously can’t do anything about it, after such long delays I can’t bear to see something like this.

Don’t really know what I’m asking for other than if anyone has any experience with DHL and them saying something like this? What happens next? Are they going to send it back to the sender, in this case NVC?

I’m fairly certain the NVC knows the new address of the consulate. This is diplomatic mail, not regular. They can’t send it to a wrong address as it’s a pretty serious thing to send. Take a deep breath and relax. They will receive it.

I don't think so..  Diplomatic mail is accompanied by a diplomatic courier.

It’s honestly so frustrating how disorganized this process is. How hard is it to get the address correct? It’s literally their job. I know I shouldn’t be freaking out but it’s upsetting to see something like this when I myself know the correct mailing address. Might as well go deliver it myself

Thank you. It’s just frustrating to see this error when I myself know the correct mailing address.

Have you tried call DHL customer service? I write about it in the PDF found on any monthly NOA2 to NVC to Embassy threads. It's usually in the first post on the first page.

I tried that too but the person who answered said that number only handles shipments within the US and then gave me the number for Canada. When I called the Canadian number he asked if I was the sender or receiver and I wasn’t sure how to answer that so I told him I’d call back later. Do you know what I should say if they ask me if I’m the sender or receiver? I’ll try calling back today

To claim to be either the shipper (NVC) or the receiver (Consulate) means you would be representing yourself as a US government employee, albeit a lower-level one-- not sure I would go down that road.  You could perhaps characterize yourself as the "owner" of material in the shipment  that was shipped on your behalf, but that would likely not get you any information.

Yup exactly why I didn’t feel comfortable answering that question the way it was phrased. Im going to try calling again on Monday and phrasing it the way you said to see what they say. Thanks!

So I just called again and all they told me was they had the wrong delivery address and the receiver refused the delivery. They told me a DHL rep tried to contact both the receiver and sender in this case consulate and NVC and neither replied. She said I could try contacting the sender to give a correct address but I don’t know if I could do that as technically I’m not the sender. I guess they’ll just have to send it back to NVC now 😭 idk what else I could do from my side.

I know... but at least this isn’t happening to me alone. Many people whose K1 cases have been at Montreal that I’ve been talking to are in this batch as well. I can only hope now that Montreal quickly accepts the electronic version of the case to get my Ready status and sorts out this mailing error later. Please pray for me🙏😫
