Hello,
My boyfriend applied and I prepared the whole K1 documents and sent the whole forms + necessary supportive documents on 14th of September 2020 to USICS.
I would like to learn about the most current processing times of USICS? I know there is also a function here which shows the processing times but still I would like to ask someone who also applied around summer time how their processing times were.
And another question, his mailing and current address is in Indianapolis. Do you know which USICS office will process our file?
Thank you!

California is the processing center. they are working on k1 in February and march filers. When you set up your time is when you can see proximity when it could be processed.

USCIS should take 4-7 months to approve but the real backlog is at NVC now due to COVID. Most of the embassies are not doing any K1 interviews now. So, they have 7 months and growing of backlogs to clear. Nobody have any idea when it would resume. Whole process will probably take 2 years to complete if you just started. Or you might get lucky and backlogs will clear by the time your case reaches NVC. Very frustrating 😕

You can check the official Processing Times page at:

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Select your visa type and processing center and it will tell you where they are at in the processing dates. Everyone’s case is different and they aren’t always processed in order due to RFEs, delays, BG checks, etc. but it will give you a general idea of how far behind the processing center is. My NOA1 is dated 3/5 - the website above shows that they are currently working on apps from 3/2. Just a few days ago it was 3/1 and last week it was 2/28. So they are making some progress but they are definitely behind for sure. This is only for the CSC, different centers will have different dates and then it will hit the delays in the NVC once it makes it there.

All K-1s are processed at the CSC these days, except for a few outliers that get sent to Vermont because of criminal/AWA background.
