Hey guys

About to join the September 2020 Filers. Just had a final couple of questions

1.) Did any of you submit a cover letter along with the application. I remember making a detailed cover letter for my previous visa dealings but somehow I cant seem to find a consensus that it is required or needed.

2.) I am being asked to submit Evidence about child support. I have just one child who lives with me. Is that a standard question. I was under the impression that the online form is a smart form which only asks for relevant data ( I am hoping I didn't click that my child doesn't live with me)

Thanks in advance

Hi!

I finally filed N-400 on the 25th of the Sept. I got an update that the est. waiting time is 6 months (March 2021).

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to print the completed N400 form before submission. It was so wrong for me to presume that I can still get back to the document in my USCIS online account.

May I ask if anyone has any input regarding this? Will it be required or needs to be presented during the biometrics or interview?  Thank you.

You should be able to get your completed n400 form from the documents tab (edit: in your myuscis account). There should be a link called "view case snapshot."

Thank you. I’ll try that. I greatly appreciate it.

I experienced the same thing. It requires a lot of patience. I’m glad it’s all done — at least the 1st step is over. The waiting time begins.

As of now, I can only view the Receipt Notice and my uploaded supporting documents. I will try checking in the next couple of days. Thanks.

I just had my biometrics appointment awhile ago. All they need is your green card, another id (for me it was my military dependent id + philippine passport) and then my appointment letter. They didn't ask for anything else apart from that. So you'll probabably bring the stuff in the interview like most people do.

Thanks in advance

I submitted a long cover letter (long because i made a table of all the contents/documents that i submitted with my n400 application and categorized them) but i like it that way so that's its full proof and i won't get an rfe. Hehehe. And they can't say i didn't submit whatever either. I also wrote a short 3- 5 sentence introducing my self and my journey as a k1, getting married and doing aos and then that i'm applying for n400 under ina 319b. And then anothe paragraph explaining my why i wanna apply for it and then another paragraph explaining my schedule and another asking to expedite mine. But yeah i have just had that table/chart with the entire contents in my k1 fiance visa packet and aos packet. So i continued it with my n400. The officer at my interview for my aos was very impressed with my detailed and easy packet and tabs. (I placed codes on tabs) So yeah that encouraged me so much. But its up to you if you want or not want to do a cover letter. I sent mine by mail too so it makes more sense to have a cover letter. But for those that send it in via online.. a lot of people skip that part. But for me i feel it can help your case as an intro or something.

Thanks. It makes me feel less worried. I also Google search on possibilities / consequences of not having a print out . I came across making a request from FOIA which I find very complicated. I don’t think I’ll go that route. Another says it’s no big deal as it’s my personal info. Thought of printing the PDF format of N 400 and manually fill out my responses. It will serve as my quick guide. But, I’ll still be checking in my USCIS if my case snapshot will show in the next few days. Thanks for the reply. That helps a lot.

You're welcome! No problemo.. anyway i know you will need your form at the interview cause there is a portion where you sign infront of the uscis officer during the interview. I sent mine by mail so i know they will use the form i gave you. But for sure for those that filed online they would print that part out for you guys. But yeah just to be sure just bring the print out. And yeah don't worry things show up at that website slowly but surely. So yeah you'll definitely find your document sooner or later!

Hey all, submitted my N-400 package today on the 3 years marriage rule (although married for 4.5 years) with the following contents:

  • Permanent Resident Card scan

  • Marriage Certificate scan

  • Driver’s licenses scans

  • Joint tax returns the year 2017 through 2019

  • Spouses Birth Certificate and US Passport scans

  • Child Birth Certificate

  • Few Joint Bank Account statements over the years of marriage

  • Few Joint Utility Bills over the last couple of year

  • Apartment Lease Agreements Scan

  • List of labeled photos over the years of marriage

  • Health Insurance Joint Enrollment over the last few years

Also I faced a very annoying issue when uploading files when they just disappear as soon as you switch to the application review page. Ended up following one of the advises I found online - uploading files one by one instead of in bulk.
