I misread time of landfall:  most likely is Tuesday 8 a.m.; earliest reasonable is Wed. 8 p.m.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

I need to pay better attention.  I'm in the FL Keys and have not been watching the news.   In FL we call a category 1 hurricane a large thunderstorm.

No I just read that one would weaken and the other stronger but they would become one if given enough time but there will be little time for them to merge. More than likely they will affect each other and such of course but probable push each others path. This will be interesting to see but I think they will be a big nothing.

Also saw that the eastern cone has moved westward and is looking like a possible direct New Orleans target for now and one for us here in Houston. The 2 cities that have always helped each other is getting hit at about the same time.

Prediction that I heard was ~8 feet of storm surge in Galveston, from the direct hit and the influence of the other.  Last thing Galveston needs is another Ike.

Don't you EVER work anymore, lol?  Took the boat out today in FLL, had fun.  Was thinking about finding a not-too-pricey place to stay down your way where we could trailer the boat and spend 2-3 days just relaxing around the first of the month.  Are all the Keys open to strangers like us, without residences?

As for work, my son in law is now working for me, so I can be out of the office and still be making money and keeping the office going.  Supposed to go to Texas in Oct for a Prowler car event.

I can live with that.  No different than FLL, though most people blow that off until they have to go inside a store.

 

The whole 'you have to wear masks in your own home if you have visitors" and "you have to wear a mask if you step off your own property" are pretty asinine mandates, IMO.  We had friends come in from out of town and spend the night with us last night.  No masks, no social distancing, but everyone was partaking of adult sanitizers, so I suspect we shall all be good.
