Hum, I love the webcam, but I voted "telephone", too. However, I'm a little surprised to see the phone leading so well, given the fact that internet is free, relatively. I guess for me the telephone is somehow more relaxing, but it's a very tough call over seeing my baby's smiling face.

We used them all... well, except carrier pigeon! If you added them all together we were in contact with each other about twelve hours a day! But the most precious time was our twice-daily phonecalls... it cost John a fortune, even with phonecards, but he said he'd do it all over again if he had to because it brought us closer together and KEPT us together... he called me briefly every morning when he got up (when I was going to bed) and he called me for a longer time in his evening (about lunchtime...) Inbetween calls we used ICQ whenever he was at home, and for awhile we used IRC and chatrooms but we got tired of that.

We are almost broke because of phone calls but it's the best way to communicate. It's 12hrs time difference, so phone call is the most convinient. We only sent greeting cards or gift on snail mail. We are both too lazy to write emails, we use webcam/instant message mostly on weekend or when I go home early & he wakes up early enough.

Can't do carrier pigeon because I only have cat & turtle at home.

The phone companies are getting richer

while Tobe was still in the Netherlands, we would use the combo of the webcam and skype... it saved thousands of dollars...

if anyone out here still doesnt know about skype... please, please, please... for the sake of your wallets and communication, check it out... http://www.skype.com/

it works like a messenger, but you can actually talk to each other via the computer for free... as many hours as you want... and the rates of computer to phone are the cheapest i have found... there are no problems with incompatibility for those mixed relationships (mac user/pc user)

oh, and no... im not on their payroll ;)

Let me second keltic's endorsement. Skype is definitely my communication medium of choice. ... We leave it on all the time. He hears me make breakfast in the morning, and I can hear him shifting logs in the fireplace. It's great to hear those little sounds of life. ... Thankfully, this long-distance nonsense is ending soon! Interview next week

(I voted webcam, by the way, not knowing where Skype fits in. ... )

he watched and talked to us and "helped" us decorate our christmas tree...

i also voted webcam, since i was unsure of where skype would fall

When we were still in our long distance relationship, we liked to talk on the phone mostly... the first few months of our relationship we just communicated over the internet..... then we started talking on the phone and we liked that much better..... we did like to use the webcam too but we would usually talk on the phone while using the webcam .... it messed up our computer when we tried to use voice and webcam at the same time :P....

Now I am glad we can communicate face to face :).... I don't miss those old days of talking on the phone at all :P

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The world around you gets hazy and the only thing you focus on is you and that person. And for that one moment you've been given this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry at the same time because you're so lucky you've found it and so scared that it will go away.
