Your specific service center

Hi,

 

(Currently waiting for AOS, got NOA for I-485 in early May.) Just in case anyone else might find this useful, I had a tough time finding out which Service Center is processing my application specifically. (It doesn't say the name of the Service Center anywhere on the NOA.) I had abundant links to pages with general lists of who's processing which types of forms, but nothing about how to find out which Service Center is handling our case specifically. So if you want to find out processing times for your application and which Service Center is handling your case, look at the receipt number you were given. The list below comes from the website linked just above:

 

Service Center (WAC 16 012 50960)
Every receipt number begins with three letters that represent the service center that received the case. There are several codes for USCIS service centers. They include:

 

CSC – California Service Center
EAC – Eastern Adjudication Center (now known as Vermont Service Center)
IOE – ELIS (efile)
LIN – Lincoln Service Center (now known as Nebraska Service Center)
MSC – Missouri Service Center (now known as National Benefits Center)
NBC – National Benefits Center
NSC – Nebraska Service Center
SRC – Southern Regional Center (now known as Texas Service Center)
TSC – Texas Service Center
VSC – Vermont Service Center
WAC – Western Adjudication Center (now known as California Service Center)

How helpful, I had no idea where MSC stood for, I knew I had to choose NBC for processing times 😂

Some paper filed cases also get IOE. I filed I-765 and I-131 for renewal last month and got IOE for those cases; those 2 forms can only be paper filed. National Benefits Center was listed on the receipt notices.

 

Also, my wife filed I-90 using online filing got IOE case number and the receipt notice says Potomac Service Center.

For I-485, initially NBC handles it by issuing RFE if anything is missing, etc. but they don't adjudicate it. The send it to your Local Field Office so that they can do the interview and/or adjudication.

My wife's I-797 Receipt Number begins with "YSCxxxxxxxxx), what is that?  How do we figure which Service Center is processing her Removal of Conditions?

The Current processing Times table only identifies CSC and VSC centers.

MSC/NBC is the odd one out because it's not really a service center. It's where cases go that will be forwarded to the local field office for processing.

They still fully adjudicate I-765 and I-131 applications.

I got i an IOE also even if i paper filled my n400 application. Just adding that in case someone also had that same case as me and was wondering. It was weird but i'm happy to at least have a receipt number.
