Somewhat digressing, but one thing I absolutely despise about US racial relation is that Asians always gets ignored because we are basically pseudo-whites...and also, I would be more sympathetic toward white conservatives if they admit that they use just as much welfare as black people.

I agree.  Nowadays, when I am filling out any form that asks about race, I either use the OTHER blank or cross out white/caucasian and write in American (my ancestors did not come from the Caucus region).  If everyone in America started doing this, I think we would see less racial statistics to potentially be divided over.  Skin color just shouldn't matter.

The numbers have been dropping in recent years, but this is the article that had the numbers I posted.  I'm sure 2018 and 2019 are different, but close?  Not sure.  (Also, one needs to multiply the percentage of each race in the US by the rates quoted above to put it into more perspective.

So 38.8% of recipients are whites, which are about 63% of the population.

39.8% of recipients are black, which are about 13% of the population.

Assuming a US population of 331,182,250 and 12.8 million welfare recipients for 2017:

4.97 million whites are on welfare (out of 208.6 million whites) which equates to ~2.4% of all whites.

5.1 million blacks are on welfare (out of 43.1 million blacks) which equates to ~11.8% of all blacks.

(My Maff could easily be off, so anyone feel free to correct any accidental oversights!)

My source for the numbers you mentioned:

https://brandongaille.com/welfare-statistics-by-race-state-and-payment/

Hm, the sites don't really post governmental sources to back up the claim, so I will have to dig a few hours to see how accurate that is.

But as for the general welfare, I think welfare in the US is...too much to the point it incentivizes not working. I was talking to my friend in Australia - he used to live under Withholding of Removal for 24 years in the US, but that's a different story that i may tell you if you are interested enough - and he made fun of how the US gives away so much stuff to people who don't want to work. According to him, Australia only gives two hundred AUD or something per week to unemployed people, which is very small compared to the US.

Excellent solution...but which neither party wants to pursue.

Here's a more reliable .gov source for ya, and it's just SNAP, not all welfare.  Also did not see any breakdown by race/sex/age at a quick glance.

They're probably everlastingly grateful to have to spell "Tanzania" rather than "Tanganyika."

NB is probably grateful not to have to spell either.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
