IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE: PASSPORT SHIPPED WITHIN A WEEK?

 Share

I am not going to believe this is happening until it really happens, but here is the story: I naturalized on July 8, applied for my passport at my local post office on July 22, my personal check was cashed early this week, and today I received an email stating that my application has been approved and I would be receiving my passport etc in 6-8 weeks. I checked my status at travel.gov and it says my passport has already been shipped and I should get it within 10 days! And they have even provided a tracking number.

Are they really working this fast? Or is this a system glitch? My  head is reeling at this point.

Amazing! Congrats!

Give us details of where you applied and once you receive it - where it came from.

I am not even sure, LOL! I only hope I don't wake up tomorrow morning and find that I was in a dream. It's been a frustrating process so far:  my oath ceremony was scheduled, then descheduled, then scheduled again, then descheduled again and finally, scheduled. I am not even sure I believe my own eyes now :) I will just wait.

Congrats! Yes one other person reported receiving their passport this fast recently. Which state are you in? I'm starting to think that the passport center in Irving, TX is taking much longer than the office that handles the rest of the states.

I live in New Jersey. Do you know what state the other person lives in?

Citizenship received in 2016, took ~5 months from application to passport.

No they never updated with any further details. Our app was July 16 and it went to in process exactly 1 week later. No update since then though.

I am a U.S. born citizen, and when I applied for my first passport in 2016, it arrived in 13 days. Earlier this year, I had to have it replaced because it got damaged.

The new one arrived in about the same amount of time. Both were processed in New Orleans, and printed in Hot Springs, Arkansas, about 50 miles from my house.

It looks like the passport is coming from Little Rock, Arkansas.

Did you pay  for express or just the normal delivery

Normal. I don't think they are doing Expedite/Express at the moment.
