its been a good week.

It's awesome to see all these approvals. congratulations JasS and Jade2004. Very happy for you guys I am leaving to India end of this month. I am hoping we will get our approval before I leave so when I am there I can get the paper work done faster and get an interview date sooner by avoiding the mail and filing the paper work directly since I will have access to the US embassy.

But until I get the approval, its all a pipe dream. Atleast I getto see my wife after 6 months, as happy as I am, I am really trying not to think about the day when I have to come back again with out her while she waits for her approval. I keep telling myself and her that we should be happy about the days we get together and not think about the day when we have to part again but it still keeps popping up in the back of the head. The only Solace is, God willing this time our parting won't be as long as the past one since if CSC continues to approve at this pace, I might be able to bring her here by atleast end of October.

I know the feeling! I also will be with my husband in 12 days and leaving them behind is like someone ripping out your heart! You are counting the minutes down until you can finally be with them but, time moves so fast when your together. Hopefully CSC continues to bring on the approvals and this will make your visit even more special with your wife. This is what I'm hoping for with my husband! The process has to end sometime! Enjoy your visit!

It has been an incredible week!!! My wife and I joined VJ recently but have been logging on for about a month after a friend of mine, who went through a similar situation getting his wife here from Peru, made me aware of this wonderful web site. Thank you so much for the inspiring posts that let my wife and I know we were not the only ones going through the agony of being apart.

OK, I called USCIS today. Since there was no one at the CSC, I was transferred to the USCIS main office. The guy was friendly. He said that our file was marked with a -40, meaning there were forty days left in processing. I remarked that friends of ours had been approved. He said that each application is different. I said that we were on a website with 100's of applicants and that ours seemed to be among the last. He said that it was just immigration processing (I often go between thinking they didn't like the look of our file and we simply got put in an unlucky file). He said the file was within "normal processing times" and I remarked that those seemed more like drop-dead, outside dates. He agreed. I asked if it was necessarily 40 days more, or whether it could happen between 1 and 40 days. He said yes, so it's a little bit of hope - unless of course, they are delaying our file and it will be done on Day 40. My wife already got a green card and then we moved to out of the country for my job. One could imagine someone being angry that we didn't properly appreciate the privilege of receiving the previous green card.

We'll see. I hope we're not last, but don't wish the honor on any of you. We've been married 11 years now and I'm forced to pay for my wife and kids while they're in Japan, as well as not seeing them since January, except for a week).

I know what you mean, I felt exactly what you are feeling right before my trip. Your approval should be here very very soon. One question, what is your plan of action here in India once you get the approval? Since I am going to be in Delhi very soon and will also have access to the embassy, I wanted to know what is the best I can do to speed up the process. Let me know if possible. Thanks

Yep, I filed as well the first week of April. My paperwork has not even been touched in over 90 days. This includes the I-130 and the 129F.

I have a new found respect for illegal immigrants, that process seems to be much quicker with less hassels.
