N-400 April 2020 Filers

Any updates, anyone? I’ve filed on April 24, got my receipt in the mail, and nothing since. Looking forward to those ASC reopening.

Same. Filled in early April and nothing after the receipt. We’ll see if the ASC reopening does anything...

Filed at the beginning of April and never even got the receipt in the mail, just the online notice.

Yeah, it looks like the USCIS is doing everything it can to make sure people who need the oath ceremony are getting it and they are clearing that backlog. While everything else is on a back burner.

That makes sense. I don't really blame them for doing that. ASC's don't open in my area until July 20th, so I'm not expecting much movement until closer to that date, if even that.

I was wondering how are you guys finding out when the ASCs are opening up for your respective locations? Is there a site that shows this information? I am curious to when Detroit opens up there ASCs. Thanks!

My case status has one added line to it.

”It is being processed at our E-Filed Case Processing Section location.”

Has this happened to everybody who filed online or am I reading too much?!?😊

Just checked our status and it's the same. No clue what it means, maybe it just means you filed online?

April online filers, did anyone get a paper snailmail NOA after you filed? We never got that and now I'm wondering if that is cause for concern.

Yes, your should get a hardcopy in the mail too, not just on your online account. Did you happen to move around the same time you filed the N-400? USCIS are very known for messing up address changes. In fact, they never update the address at all and people miss out on important correspondence. People call USCIS to make sure the address change was registeredand the customer rep says the new address is in the system, yet the mail is sent to the old address. Makes zero sense, but there are so many stories about this here on VJ.

 

I updated my address during our first immigration process, and the address was never updated in their system despite the fact that we received an address change confirmation. Ridiculous.

Thank you for this. I have Informed Delivery and never saw anything from USCIS but we did move about 1 month after submitting the N-400 online.

 

I got an online confirmation that the address was changed, but again, never received a hard copy for that either. I figured it was a Covid-19 related issue, but now that others are saying they did get physical copies in the mail, I will call USCIS tomorrow and see what is going on. I hope the wait times won't be too horrible.. 😕

Which field office ? I applied on April 16th and in same line as you.
