Hey All,

 

Just received my Wife's whole I-485 packet back.  The reason given is that the petition is "on an out dated version of the form".  Which is a little annoying since the expiration date on the form is 07/31/2021.  There are slightly different forms up on the website now, so we will refill those out and resubmit.  My question here is if you guys have heard of this and if there is something i should be on the look out for when resubmitting.  I realize that pretty broad but if we can do it right the first time and still get rejected i guess I'm a little at a loss.

 

We will look over the requirements for any changes in the mean time and start these over.  Thanks in advance.

Never go by the expiry date, always refer to the edition date that USCIS mentions in the website.

 

Anyway, just fill the new form and don’t forget to include i944 as well.

That's the OMB Expiration Date you are referring to. You are not the OMB.

The website states what Edition Dates are currently accepted. the Edition Date is on the lower left corner of the forms.

That's the OMB expiration number.  Actually has nothing to do with USCIS.

 

Always check USCIS site for correct forms and instructions.

If you downloaded the forms prior to 2/24/20 and then filed after 2/24/20, the forms were updated to the 10/15/19 forms that day and anything other than those forms will not be accepted. That's why USCIS says the forms are outdated.

How could they possibly match it up to a case not in the system yet?
