There are a few airports extending upon arrival right now, our attorney advised that we would evaluate and address as necessary.  Unprecedented times for sure.  I appreciate the feedback and information shared on this site.

We have an attorney submitting our case, I was just seeking her guidance as to any unforeseen complications.  Better to have too much information as to all the risks prior to making any decisions.

I hope your attorney explained that people who overstay authorized visits immediately lose ESTA forever......

I wouldn’t risk it.... I’m a heathy 30 yo with an ESTA that’s valid for 2 years. 
 

Not much is known about Coronavirus - we are learning More and more about it as time goes. 
 

it’s affecting healthy people. 
 

Stay in Australia. The chance of her returning home on her return flight is slim to none as the industry is about to collapse.

now Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin and United (Melb to LA) not flying until at least may/june.  anyone heard if they will extend dates that we need to enter by?

You mean extended expiration for visas?

 

EDIT:  I have not heard any word about extending visa expiration dates.........but I think they might possibly re-issue expired visas after a new medical......as a means of virus screening..........just speculating.

yeah, I think you could be right.  Pending updated police and medical (there goes another $500!)....we're emailing the consulate today but not sure if we'll hear back

Can you report back if you hear back from the Consulate? I’m dreading another $500 for the medical as well...

yes, they JUST emailed back.  they may be able to issue a replacement visa- case by case basis, but they can't review it until the current visa expires (July 2020).  one of the requirements is that the basis for immigration still exists, and if he's eligible he needs to pay new visa fee, new medical, and new police check and maybe update form DS 260 and a new interview.

Thanks for reporting back. Gosh, I hope that in your case that you’re able to move before the visa expires.
