NVC Shutting Down and Not Mailing Cases??

I am doing k1 visa and we got our case number on march 3rd. but i checked online and my case it is still at  NVC. This was two weeks ago.. it should have been in transit now.

 

i also just found out that vietnam (both embassies hanoi and hcmc) has canceled all interviews as of now.

 

so does that mean NVC will NOT be sending my case to vietnam embassy???

 

 

we are freaking out right now!!!

NVC is open, not shut down.  Your issue lies with the local embassy which is closed.

My fiance got an email saying the embassy over there is closed until further notice. On the ustraveldoc site. It says wait to 14 days. But with how this virus is affecting everything. I doubt they be open in two weeks. Probably a month. Her interview was suppose to be on the 23rd of this month. Now we got to wait until they open again to set a new interview time. 😪

Our own case too has gone to NVC from what the approval letter from uscis said. I don't know how to check it at NVC. If you can tell me how to do that  I will check too and see if mine has left the NVC.

you have to call them at this number

Monday through Friday

 

press 1 for English and then 2

 

after you get case number, go to this website..

 

make sure you choose "immigrant visa" if you are doing k1

No. I still have the uscis WAC #. I haven't had any contact with NVC yet. Our case was approved on 3/5/2020 and letter said its been sent to NVC.

First thing you need to do is call NVC and ask for your case number. Once you have that go to CEAC.state.gov and use "immigrant" as your visa type and then enter your case number. You will get a result of the current status. Instructions on how to reach NVC are posted above by others.

With the on slot of embassy's reducing their staff and day to day functions, couple that with no VJ member is reporting that their case status went to "in transit" yesterday, I can only guess that there will be no shipments until further information is available. This is my opinion and has not been confirmed from any governmental agency, so I put it out there for your edification. I'm heartbroken that I have to report this grim news. Stay strong as we move further into the COVID-19 stages.
