Just imagine if the whole K1/K3 Visa process took exactly 5 years to complete, what would you do?

1st Notice of Action takes - 1 year

2nd Notice of Action takes - 1 year

Consulate to Receive it - 1 year

To get a Interview scheduled - 1 year

To attend your medical and interview - 1 year

What would you really do? :blink:

February 20, 2007 - mailed I-129F to TSC

February 21, 2007 - I-129F received by TSC

February 27, 2007 - NOA1 approved by CSC

March 12, 2007 - received NOA1 by mail

April 19, 2007 - Touched

May 14, 2007 - Touched

May 14, 2007 - NOA2 Approved!

May 15, 2007 - Touched

May 23, 2007 - NVC Received

May 25, 2007 - Left NVC

June 7, 2007 - Consulate Received Petition

June 12, 2007 - Received Interview date from NVC

June 29, 2007 - Packet 4 received

July 23 & 24, 2007 - Medical appointment completed

August 13, 2007 - Interview(Visa Approved!)

September 28, 2007 - Sharon arrives in US

December 22, 2007 - Civil Wedding

-AOS-

Febuary 10, 2008 - Chicago Office recieves AOS package

Febuary 15, 2008 - Check cashed for AOS

March 7, 2008 - Case Transfered to CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER

March 8, 2008 - Biometrics Taken

May 13, 2008 - Received Welcome Letter Notification

May 16, 2008 - AOS Approved

Don't give USCIS any ideas to add more time on handling these processes! :P

What are you guys saying? If it took 5 years you would just hang on.....No Way...I would revolt in the streets, I would protest and run for office. I wouldn't just keep going. I know you mean, I am committed so however long it takes...but don't let this soul sucking process make you forget these are our dollars and we fund this government, fee for service organization. Revolt!

That would be totally insane. I would leave this place and move to Morocco.

If I cause offense it is not on purpose, think about that before you take offense. If you feel offended, consider that maybe I'm not talking about you and maybe I accidentally stumbled onto a sore area and do not know. Thank you.

It depends on when I discovered this tidbit. If I knew it early in our online relationship, I probably would not have continued to pursue the relationship. Learning enough about the visa process to have an idea what I was in for was something I made a point to do early on.

If I found out after I married, then I would have tried to find a way to live in China.

A timeline like that would definitely weed out the faint of heart and those with no patience for this process. :)

And if it took that long for the visa - imagine how long the AOS after it would be! :unsure:

K-1 visa issued: 12/15/2006

107 days from mailing AOS package to receiving green card! Received 6/27/07 dated 6/20/07

Removing conditions:

mailed 5/22/2009

Recieved at CSC 5/23/2009

Check cashed 5/27/09

NOA date 5/26/09 - still not received

I-551 stamp in passport 6/19/09

Biometrics notice date 6/16/09

Biometrics received 6/20/09

Biometrics apt date 7/9/09

Biometrics cancellation notice 6/27/09

Biometrics apt notice date 6/26 recieved 7/7

Biometrics apt 7/22/09

Touch 7/22/09

Finally able to see online info 7/22/09

Card production email 8/19/09 date ordered 8/18

Recieved approval letter in mail 8/19/09 date 8/13!

Touch 8/19

Email stating approval notice sent 8/24/09

Green card in hand!! 8/24/09

Husband joined army and moved from San Diego to Ft. Benning GA! 8/30/11

Filed N400 based on 5 years of residency 9/12/12

Recieved email notifcation recieved package 9/19/12

Biometrics 10/22/12

Early Biometrics 10/04/12

In line for interview 10/8/12 for 8 days

Interview 11/20/12 PASSED!

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

Learn more Russian Language and move to the Ukraine simple as that. This K-1 is was suppose to speed things up and simply get a 90 visa rather than waiting like 2 yrs for a K-3

But like always with all the things going on with this immigration stuff it’s bogged down a good visa (K-1) and what is was intended to do. Help loved ones be together fast and then go threw the long process of residing here in the US
