Interview scheduled 2 weeks from now!! When we got the notification from NVC a week ago that our file was in transit to the embassy, we called the embassy to see what the next steps were. They asked us to email them documents listed on P3 letter (which we already had a copy of because of this site)!! The next day we emailed everything and they setup our interview date. During these last few months my fiancé got a copy of his police and court records, so that was a HUGE timesaver! Wish us luck!!

Why wouldn't this be a good sign? Is there something wrong with your application that you think they want to discuss now than later? You're over thinking this process. Trust the process! Good luck and stay engaged.

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is doing okay.

As far as I can tell, our case arrived to the Bogota Embassy back in April. Since my fiancee (Venezuelan) now lives in Ecuador, I've been trying to send the case to the Embassy in Ecuador for months but kept being told that everything was shut down because of the pandemic. Finally on September 3rd I was able to get in contact with someone regarding the transfer. They told me in normal situations the transfer request may take two months. At the end of September they told me that they requested our case from Bogota but couldn't give us a timeframe as to when it will arrive. I followed up two weeks ago and they said they're still waiting for the case to arrive. I followed up again yesterday and they are still waiting. Our CEAC status has said "Transfer in Progress" for since the end of September.

Hopefully the case will be received soon but I have no idea if the case has even left the Bogota Embassy.

Hard to believe it's already been a year since I started preparing to send out the petition.

Anyway, just wanted to give everyone an update. I know my situation is a bit atypical but hopefully this helps someone.

Visa approved 💪🏻 Fiancé comes in 2 weeks!! Hoping everyone here hears back from the embassies in the next month. I do know that K-1 visas are a priority for processing and more embassies are beginning   to accept k1 cases every week. Stay positive don’t lose hope!!

That is so awesome for you guys!! I am genuinely happy for you but simultaneously so frustrated with the US govt. These blanket travel bans are beyond ridiculous. Croatia’s cases are in worse shape than Norway’s but our embassy will not process visas due to the travel ban. Why is Norway banned but not Croatia? It is just beyond frustrating. I’m sorry if this turned your post negative but I feel I needed a little vent. But I am absolutely so happy for you and your fiancé and I hope you guys get the chance to be together for the holidays!!

Happy to see some good news here. We are still waiting for our petition to get rerouted to Colombia. Our petition has been at NVC since April. I can’t get an answer on anything. And the embassy in Colombia hasn’t given any clear answer on when they will resume spouse and fiancé visas. They started processing student visas some time ago. A bit crazy in my mind that they are processing student visas but giving everyone the runaround on fiancé and spouse visas. Sigh, hopefully we are nearing the end.

The embassies have been instructed to process CR-1/IR-1 as they are critical to family unity and students because the new school year has started here in the states. K-1 is not critical, so it takes the back seat. It is what it is. Embassies are beginning to open and process visa's but for safety reasons some are not opening just yet as there is a high rate of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic cases for that country. Patience.

BTW, your country is listed as Puru in your profile, but you opined that you are waiting on Colombia to reroute your case. If you are processing in Colombia it would help us to know so that we can give you a clear answer to any future questions you may have. Each embassy has different processes and therefor I point out your profile status.

Its okay. No travel ban for Philippines (however they're not letting tourists into the country) and we're still waiting for the embassy to open back up. So travel ban or not, we're all in the same boat of waiting. It really sucks and i totally understand the frustration. We're over this virus and waiting 😅

I think if it wasn't for this virus, mostly everyone in this thread would be married by now. 😕

Stay strong everyone!

Thanks for the reminder. I haven’t changed it from Peru yet until I get final confirmation that it is going to Colombia. As of right now it is still routed to go to Peru and the NVC has not given me a clear answer on whether they will reroute it or send it to Peru. If it goes to Peru we will determine what we want to do as far as my fiancé either going back to Peru or waiting for it to get transferred.

The last update I received from the embassy in Colombia is that they are not even processing CR1 unless it is listed as an emergency. They seem to be pretty locked down still. I totally understand the reasoning behind it all, it is just that the waiting and wondering makes you feel a bit like you are losing your mind some days 🤣

I know there was a statement put out that embassies could make K1 a priority (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/important-notice-for-k-visa-applicants-affected-by-covid-19.html) but it seems to be worded more as “optional” and only for embassies that have resumed full processing. It will be interesting to see if it is put into place.
