Hello - my VJ community -

Just wondering if K1 visa can still be approved if neither party's parents consent to the engagement. Just curious if there's any effect on the issuance visa, provided that this is the only point of contention. Think of it as an elope.

Might be an issue if in your culture parental consent is required,

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Won't at all what so ever interfere with the K1,  unless the beneficiary is a minor.  No parental consent is needed, non of the parents are contacted at all.  So its up to you if you want to go through with it.   Even if your parents don't agree you can still leave and live in america.

Okay. That’s reassuring.

All that USCIS would care about is whether the ages are legal to marry where the petitioner resides.  However if either parties are minors the petition will probably be sent to VSC and subject to a thorough review.  Consulate will care if the beneficiary is able to leave the country legally prior to issuing visa.

The Philippines requires such a document.

If she is between the age of 18 to 21 she must have parental consent in writing, those age 21 to 25 must have written parental advice (a written indication that the parents are aware of the couple's intent to marry).

They will check as the beneficiary sees a Filipino CO first who reviews the required documents for the Philippine government. Then onto the American CO for the interview. Yes, the American CO doesn't care BUT you have to get by the Filipino CO first.
