generally how many times may someone leave the US while on advance parole and what are the duration? or is there no limit on duration?

Of course there is a limit. If a person is out too ling there would be considered abandoning their permanent residency. Same thing with leaving too many times. There is no set amount but one should use their time away sparingly.

you can leave as many times as possible but the CBP might raise a flag at port of entry for those that stay abroad for too long and question your intent.  Brief travel should not be an issue

You can come and go as you please. But you better be careful with how long you stay outside the country
