Hello Everyone,

My Fiance wanted me to ask this question. And I am sure, I am in the right place 😁.

She is a Registered Nurse with her Masters.

I know that the education requirements are not the same especially here in California.

But anyone here that can help her with a Step-By-Step on becoming a RN here in California?

Or can recommend a web-site to look at please

Thank You

You're asking in the right place, there have been a few that have done just that, hopefully they will stop by to respond.

You could do some searching within this forum also ...

I'd start with the California State Board of Nursing, to see what their requirements are for becoming an RN.

I believe you have to have her trasncripts evaluated to be at par with the education standard in California. Then I think she also has to pass the NCLEX test, too!

Check the CA BON website. Her transcripts will be evaluated and most likely she will take some subjects. I can refer you to somebody who will prepare her documents. I can attest since I also hired them to process my application. I Am a CA RN

Hi! Tell her to join this facebook page

So helpful. What year did she graduate? I graduated and passed 2010 and planning to take the exam as well. I hope she still has a copies/record of her OR/DR cases.

RN in the U.S. is a 2 year degree.  BSN is 4 year degree.  MSN is BSN + Masters coursework, about 10 more courses.  She/you might contact local employers (hospitals) to see what she would have to do to qualify for positions that require the BSN or MSN.  Hospitals with Magnet status have a strong preference for nurses with at least BSN, so meeting that standard would be very helpful for having more opportunities and greater pay and responsibility. And, as others said, study for and pass the NCLEX.

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)
