CONGRATULATIONS SHONA!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

:dancing::dancing::thumbs::thumbs:

Can I ask what will ur status be now? AOS or Conditional Permanent Resident or Permanent Resident with 10 yr card?

When's the party?

Lol I'm not sure what I am. I suppose AOS pending. All I know is that my attorney is filing a motion to terminate the removal proceedings. Still have to AOS but I don't think it's going to be conditional since it not based on marriage.What I understand is that I can apply for citizenship in three years instead of five-but lol one step at a time. I want my work permit first !!!!!

Party will have to be at the weekend- I'm still getting over today's excitement.

About 10 o'clock this morning I received a call from my Congresslady. MY I360 HAS BEEN APPROVED. I'm in total shock crying and shaking . After nearly two years of waiting my emotions are just simply overwhelmed. I'm finally going be me again and will be able to move past this and live my life again. Thank you God for answering my prayers and thank you Steve my boyfriend for putting up with me through all this ordeal.

I called my attorney who hadn't yet heard. She called the Congresslady and then my attorney called me back. My petition had been approved on May 30th although there was no message online to say that I had been approved.

I just want to thank all of you who have been through this with me. Your constant kind words of encouragement and support have meant so much to me I can't thank you all enough.

Love

Shona

congrats ....wowow this is very very exciting news!!!

Awesome news Shona,...

I have followed your story from the beginning too, I think we joined VJ like 2 weeks apart...lol

Congratulations on the approval.

Now its time to stop for a second, and smell the Roses (F)(F)(F)(F) , enjoy this moment, you have worked long and hard to get to this stage.

I know the EAD , and AOS now means MORE paperwork, but you will breeze on through this stage.

Im glad you had the BF there for support through the harder stages of this,..and finally,.."WELCOME TO AMERICA"!!

It should be permanent residency with a 10 year green card, and yes you can naturalise in 3 years as a battered spouse petitioner.

By the way, the notice of approval of the I-360 should include a grant of deferred action status, which provides protection from removal. With this status, the alien can apply for an EAD/work permit under 8 CFR 274.12 ©(14) by a showing of economic necessity. Deferred action status and the EAD can be renewed annually at the Vermont Service Center.
