It DEFINITELY came up on the form when we applied.

And the link looks like it was dated - 11/01/2019...which is pretty recent...so..there is that!

What I'm trying to figure our is why isn't that question about trips to other countries showing up on the ds160 form I'm filling out not if the CO gonna ask or not.

By "ask" I MEAN ON THE FORM!

Good luck OP. As you know the issue you face is that immigration intent is assumed and the applicant has to disprove it. The more ties a person had to the US, the more likely it seems that they might stay. It’s sad that relatives can’t see family but that’s just not enough.
 

The number of people who come to the US and overstay seems high. Marriage to a US citizen cures the overstay so it can be an attractive option to stay, even though that doesn’t apply to you.

 

I know it’s hard to believe but I recently met a woman who left a baby and husband behind years ago to stay in the US. She didn’t see her son for 12 years. I’m only mentioning it so you know that people make the choice to overstay even when they have compelling ties.

 

i had an immigration judge as a teacher. Even as a judge he was unable to initially get a visa for his mother to visit from Argentina. He had to work through people he knew to help her get a visa. In doing that he sent a letter that he would support her, but that was only through the contacts he had.

My husband submitted petition for tourist visa for his parents and today they were rejected and handed a form. It was the 221g form and it was left blank with no indication of what, if any, paperwork they would need to submit. We did include a financial support letter., which they brought with them to their interview. Are you saying had we not submitted that letter of support, they might have been approved?

I'm not sure yet. My mother hasn't had her interview yet.. 

Which country were they coming from? And did the CO ask to see any documents? 

And from my understanding. They would of had a better chance nit traveling together.

When is your mother's interview? His parents are Moroccan and live in Morocco. When they arrived, they were told to get new photos. Which was strange because they had new photos they physically brought with them. They also digitally attached photos to their petition. They left, got new photos and returned to Consulate. Once inside, they handed over their paperwork, which included the letter of support. I'm not sure what was reviewed. Then, they were separated and interviewed individually. Then, they were brought back together and interviewed together and asked the same questions. Then they were told to wait for the Chief. Then a clerk came out and handed them this form. That's all I know.

That's strange.. No reason was selected. It seems like it wasn't a final decision and more required documents have to be submitted but they didn't select which documents.. They should contact the embassy for clarification.

Exactly. If more documents were required, why would they not indicate which on the form? And every document listed was presented at time of interview. Except for the DS-5535.
