My spouses CR-1 green card expires on 10/12/20 and I am already beginning to think about the process.

  1. We can start applying for removal of conditions on 7/12/20 correct since her GC expires on 10/12/20?

  2. Does my immigrant spouse need to include my (US citizen) previous divorce decree even though we did that during the consular process for the I-130?

  3. When she goes for the I-551 stamp into her Mexican passport she has to surrender the existing plastic green card to USCIS at the infopass appointment?

  4. How will this affect her existing SENTRI card that she uses to expedite border crossing in a car/or walking by land? Her Sentri expires in 2024.

  5. We are going to start fostering children in our home this February 2020. Could this be grounds for an expedite?

  6. Does expedite exist in the ROC process?  She originally got an expedite during the consular process due to a tumor in the head. She is still under treatment for this under an American endocrinologist.

  7. I plan on including; new pictures from 2018-on; joint accounts; bank, car insurance, credit cards, costco, electric bill, our previous lease at an apartment, current lease at our new house, copies of my ID's, BC, etc and the same for her.

Ok thanks!  I just got done reading it and it seems like we need to submit a lot less than last time.  I noticed the list doesn't include our marriage and birth certificates, nor copies of my (the citizens) ID's such as passports, driver licences etc.  One more question; we got our DL's with our previous address from where we last rented.  We moved in October and kept the DL's with the same old address but I did report an address change to the MVD for registration purposes.

I thought about changing both of our DL's to the new home address but it would not let me do hers online so I decided to leave it alone.  Plus hers will expire on 10/12/20 the same date as the GC.  Does USCIS care if we change the address on our DLs as long as we have a lease agreement for our new place?

We sent copies of our drivers license because they showed us both at the same address.  In Texas, you have to put the new address on DL within several days after a move.  Here is what we sent with my wife's ROC package:

For ROC

Apartment lease with both our names & signatures
Periodic Joint bank checking acct statements since wife's arrival in June 2017.
Deed for new home with both our names
Mortgage Lender Letter with both our names.
Credit Cards showing both on joint account with same card number.
Amazon delivery label showing both names and our current address.
Wife's Military Dependent ID card showing me as the sponsor.
Tricare Eligibility Letter showing both of us together.
Military pay statement showing wife as my benefic.
Texas Health Care Directives appointing each other as sole health care proxy(Advanced Directives)
Our Texas driver's licenses with same address for both of us
2018 Joint Tax ReturnTax Returns
Pictures of us on special occasions here in the US.
Car Insurance Cards showing both of us as insured drivers for our car
Boarding Passes for Las Vegas Valentine Day Trip 2019
Utility application showing both our names for our current address

One more thing I noticed missing from the list was a passport sized photo for the new green card.  Do they not request this because they will use the same photo from the first GC?  BTW;  have you guys received your new GC yet?

Why would she need the stamp when she gets a 18 month extension letter?
also she does not need an expedite of ROC for fostering. She would be a resident now and will be a resident after the Roc.

I hope you change address with USCIS. And a copy of old and dL could be evidence of living at same address.

I have been told by a few couples here in Tucson that they get the letter in the mail and a stamp into their passport at the info pass office.  Apparently the stamp makes it easier to go to and from Mexico by land versus carrying around the extension letter.   I changed the address with USCIS the first day we moved online.  I initially made a mistake on the address the first time.  Then went back about a week later with the correct address and corrected it the second time around online.  So at least that part is taken care of.

The reason why I held off on getting the new DL's was because they would not allow her the GC holder to get a new DL online with the new address.  If I wanted to I could do it online with no issues. I thinking about taking a day off in January to see if we can just do it in person together to get the new addresses on them.

Same in Texas......I changed mine online....but we had to change my wife's address in person.

I just got confirmation that first its the extension letter, then after that runs out you go to infopass with the passport to get a stamp in it.

Yes they extension letter is good for 18 months. If you get a stamp it will be good for 12 months and then the extension letter is useless.

The extension letter is fine.

Well thank you guys!  I took some good notes and I will try to tie up any loose ends by July such as the DL new address for the both of us and try to get her name on our new Southwest Gas account.
