Thank you for the information. EAD is exactly what I am talking about.

Is it possible to apply for EAD prior to applying for AOS?

It’s possible to apply but not possible to get before the I-94 expires.

Best bet is marry/file ASAP after entry.  Sometimes they’ll expedite, asking them is free.  Good luck

So could I use something about her parents being elderly/sick with a job offer in hand?

No, I do not think so. You have to show financial hardship within the US, not abroad. Now if the elders are in the US, depends if you have them as dependents on your tax returns.

Nope I don't believe I have a case for financial hardship then. The only thing I can think of is the project she would be working on for the company that would extend the offer is for the U.S. government. Including certain members of the project getting security clearances. Would this be something that could expedite. The company is publically held and not part of the us government.

If you have a job offer, give it a try! How long ago did you apply for the EAD? It is taking about 4-6 months now!!

I haven't yet we're starting to prepare for it. We just got her passport back and got plane tickets for her to be here.

So excited for her to be here and I'm willing and happy to help her for as long as she needs. But I know she's also passionate about her job and career so we're looking into the next steps now.

Going to be difficult getting security clearance.

I don't think she'll be able to get it which isn't a problem. Just the type of work certain members of her team will need it to be able to provide proper support should the need arise. It wouldn't stop the company from extending an offer. I'm mentioning it more to suggest the priority of the work she's doing with the government.
