Typically it is only a few weeks.  It can take 2 to 3 months.   Hopefully it was paid before entry.

My husband arrived on 20th September and he has not received his green card yet, it has been 6 weeks. How long does it really take to receive the card?

Hi there. I arrived on September 26th and get my green card this week ( October 28th).

You can check the Status in this link:

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

The number is the IOE. You will find it in your Green card fee receipt.

Best wishes

From 3 weeks through 6 months. Standard processing as per USCIS webpage is 120 days.

My wife and I went to office to apply for the SS.

and I got it three days later.

So yes,its best to go to the office and apply again.

All Im left with is my GC now and thats it.
