Don't overseas cases have to be sent to Chicago lock box? It probably would still end up at Nebraska but I've never heard of I-130s for overseas filers being sent to Lewisville.

YMMV

Actually, the K3 trick is starting to be futile. It worked for a few and that spread like wildfire. Now it is taking the same time as a normal I-130.

The I-129 trick is starting to become so common that it probably won't make much difference, it's worth a try though since Nebraska is taking more than a year to approve I-130 petitions right now unless they get their act together and start hiring more people with all those fees we pay to USCIS!  So hunker down for a long wait, don't stress over it, be grateful that you live together (for now), and start looking into issues of US-based income, financial sponsorship, and establishing a US domicile.  A year from now you'll need to provide evidence that the US citizen spouse is satisfying those requirements, sometimes this means a period of separation with the USC spouse moving to the US before the alien spouse.  Good luck!

I wouldn't say it's sooo common it still works.

What we can say is it might not work at all with IOE reciept so anyone filling out a petition now is going to get an IOE receipt, but those legacy wise still have a chance.. maybe.

Also the the quarterly reports don't show an crazy increase of I-129F denials so it's not wide spread yet, but we can't slice the statistics into it's parts K-1 vs K-3 denials. Either way. Sending the form in still has two outcomes. K-3 denial with I-130 approval earlier. Or Nothing I-130 eventually gets approved at the pace it was supposed to, and the K-3 gets denied.

There's also people that don't want to risk filing so they just don't do anything but watch from the sidelines here on the VJ forums, maybe they spoke to their lawyers and their lawyers said no way that's crazy talk.

Anyways it's all crazy. I hope service center assignment goes obsolete and that petitions would all be pooled into IOE and then pulled into a service center when it's time to work on the next case of that particular adjudicator. Clearly the first come first serve, service center assignment system is broken.

It changed on September 9th: https://www.uscis.gov/i-130-addresses OP sent it to the correct Lockbox.

Hey I just got my letter today and am wondering the same thing as you. I’m in Missouri, spouse is in finland, we mailed everything to Texas, and the letter came from Nebraska. We should connect and stay in touch with updates!

FYI, the Texas Service Center, in Mesquite, TX is about 30 miles from the Dallas Lockbox (intake) facility that is actually in Lewisville, TX.  Where you mail and where your case ends up has not been connected for several years.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous
