I added an employment verification letter. It wasn't requested, but it was accepted.

I added two pay stubs and a letter about my joint sponsor getting a recent promotion with his new pay listed. They were all accepted.

You should so evidence of ongoing income.  TBH, pay stubs seem to be better this a random letter from a random dude claiming to be someone's boss.  Just sayin'

Now a joint sponsor DOES need to also submit a completed I-864, tax return transcripts or complete tax returns, and proof of LPR or USC status.

And evidence of current income.  A copy of a pay stub will do nicely for that purpose.  Tax returns are about past, not current income.

Post above the one you quoted states that.  They just didnt merge like normal.
