Bus and Train apparently, mainly Bus then and maybe a waterbus?

Presumably zero emissions?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

AOC did and no you can not go by Train to Chile, not even Mexico.

Source on that? As far as I know she said she wanted to make air travel "unnecessary". Like I said, I'm sure you can find the answer if you google it. Greta explained it in an interview how she is going to get there.

At least way less than on an airplane.

Perhaps Geography is one of those sciences she is not so good at.

Green New Deal, covered here extensively.

"Overhauling transportation systems" to reduce emissions — including expanding electric car manufacturing, building "charging stations everywhere," and expanding high-speed rail to "a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary";

Just need a train that operates on water.

It is troubling that a 16 year old wants the world to wake up and do something about the climate? What is so scary with clean air etc?

So if you have read up on her, what is so troubling?

I thought Greta gave up school? Forget exact age, 9?

See, she didn't say ban. She said "expanding high-speed rail to a scale where air travel stops becoming necessary". Other countries and even airlines are planning on doing the same. For example KLM will replace Amsterdam to Brussels flights with rail. There are so many domestic flights that could be replaced by train.

No, she has not given up on school. She has graduated with A's in all subjects except PE.

They've never claimed to be climate experts. Do you have an issue with people who are bartenders? Isn't that the whole purpose of the American Dream? To fight your way up?

I am still wondering where all that electricity is going to come from let alone the money.

Solar panels, windmills, hydro-power.... So many options and I am sure there are more on the way. There are so many areas where we can cut money to focus on saving what is important. If we don't do anything to deal with the climate crisis we won't have a need for money anymore.

So how is all that going to be completed in less than 10 years?  Windmills are interesting, still a lot of nasty materials needed to make them, and many of them contain sulfur hexafluoride which is even nastier than CO2 from a GHG perspective.  I thought hydropower was no longer in vogue due to those nasty dams, and solar needs a lot of nasty stuff as well.  China has a big wind farm in the NW that has no customers due to a less than stellar grid.  The point is the generating capacity is not there and the grid is lacking, going to cost a lot of money to change that.

Scotland are using windmills and are producing two times more electricity than they need so they do work. One option is not going to be a fix all solution. We don't have perfect solutions at the moment but they sure as hell beat coal plants. Sulfur hexaflouride are in regular power plants as well as electrical sub-stations.

And we will need a lot more additional substations and electrical switching gear for a full electric world.  Coal could still be an option through gasification plants.  Base loads are still necessary, and depending on wind or solar to maintain base loads is tenuous.
