Hey Everyone

So the wait for the approval is over and we really excited to start preparing for the next stage of the K1 process.

Just wanted to know now how long it takes to receive information from the embassy in regards to getting the medical, police check and an interview date.

All responses are greatly appreciated

:)

"If more than 2 weeks have passed since your petition has been approved and you have not received a letter from the Embassy, please contact us through the contact form."

Some US embassies don't send out packets and have all the instructions online. I'm not sure if UK does.

Probably 7-8 weeks. The wait is for:

USCIS to send it to the NVC

NVC to get to it and assign a new case number

NVC to send it to London (petitioner gets an email when this happens)

London to get around to logging the file in and creating a letter (to beneficiary)

Royal Mail to deliver the letter

The instructions are online so you can start gathering the documents needed and getting the shot records and medical summary from your GP.

Mattie0212,

check this flowchart: https://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow/

It is a pretty good visualizer of all K-1 process, including timelines and useful information you may need.

Also, from what I read here currently NOA2 to embassy ready takes from 6 to 8 weeks.

Good luck!

After getting your NOA2 from USCIS your case file will then be shipped to NVC where it can still be another 6-8 weeks before your case file is forwarded to the embassy
