When I checked USCIS website for the mailing address it said to send the form to a Phoenix PO Box rather than the California Service Center. Has anyone else done this? It has been 10 days and no NOA. Also, I realized too late that the $85 Biometrics fee is not optional so expect the application to be returned. Now we have a problem. Wife is ticketed to travel ijust a few days and her card will expire 12/7/19. Any advice for us?

Your i-751 will be returned for incorrect fees, not sure why but this happens quite a bit.

You will have to wait for the application to be returned and send it back with correct amount ($680).

How long does it usually take to receive the biometrics appointment letter? And how many days after the letter is it usually scheduled for? I'll be out of state for work until 10/28, and I'm really hoping that they won't schedule it until I go back home but I get the feeling I might just have to fly back home for the biometrics appointment.

Is a biometrics appointment always required as part of ROC? or is it sometimes waived like the interview?

N-400 Application for Naturalization

Day    00 - 08/31/20 - Submitted online N-400 application. ROC still pending. Requested combo interview.

Day    01 - 09/01/20 - NOA received online. Status says biometrics appt letter will be sent. (PD 08/31/20)

Day  141 - 01/20/21 - Biometrics reuse letter

Day  233 - 04/22/21 - ROC approved, no news on N-400

Day  288 - 06/18/21 - Interview scheduled

Day  332 - 07/30/21 - Successful interview. No decision yet.

Day 758  - 09/28/22 - Oath ceremony will be scheduled

Day 870 - 01/18/23 - Oath ceremony complete

The letter will include instructions for how to reschedule the biometrics appointment.  You can look at people on VJ who have filed in the past couple months to get a sense of how soon they're scheduling the appointments for.

Or if you get the letter before you leave but the appt is scheduled for after you leave,  you can see if your biometrics center allows walk-ins.  Just bring your appointment letter with you and be prepared to wait.

it expires at the end of November

thank you all!

Just talked to customer rep. They rejected my case (probably because of missing biometric fee ) will see what is says on rejection notice.

Has anybody faced those issues before ? what do I have to do now ? Can I just submit again with a new check and that's all, or should I better find an attorney ?

Thanks for confirming. I'm usually pretty good at following the "Instructions" for these forms, but this time I thought the $85 biometrics fee was for each additional person on the application. My error was in thinking the $595 fee included the applicants biometrics. This was Really dumb as there is a calculator offered to clarify the amount due. Unfortunately there is no way to add the $85 other than to wait and re-submit after it is returned. This may take up to 30 days, assuming it is not lost and we need to start over. Lessons learned, anxiety and stress levels duly increased.

Package delivered this morning, woo hoo! Now just to wait for the text/NOA - for some reason I'm super anxious that we've made some small stupid mistake or forgotten something and will be rejected.
