Approved EAD -> moving in a couple of days

He y'all!

My EAD got approved on Aug 5th.
However, we are moving on Aug 9th.

I updated our address on Aug 6th immediately after I saw the approval. (I got a confirmation e-mail for my request to change the address)

I heard it usually takes a week for the combo card to arrive.

Does anyone know how fast they are when it comes to updating an address?

I'm kinda scared that it will be send to the wrong place

I would recommend going to your local post office and fill out a mail forwarding card for the post office to forward all your new incoming mail to your new address.  Or, you can simply ask the post office to hold all your mail for a certain period of time so it hopefully wouldn't get lost in transit.

USPS usually doesn’t forward USCIS mails but sends back to them as undeliverable in case of address mismatch.

Delivery times after EAD approval are all over the place, from few weeks to few months. Just hope they update your new address in your EAD case before mailing the card. Did you provide all of your receipt numbers during uscis address change?

It usually takes 30 days to update. Any chance you can keep checking your old mailbox?

USPS will not forward USCIS mail.

Oh boy.. I read online that they forward it when I pay for their premium service.. I am thinking about doing that if it does not arrive until the end of August
I talked to our landlord and I can technically check the mail here until the beginning of September..

They have mailed me a NOA letter after my EAD was approved. It was delivered two days after the status changed to "New Card is Being Produced" and then "Case Was Approved". Yesterday the status changed to "Card Was Picked Up By The United States Postal Service" (CaseTracker). There is also a tracking number provided. Download this app if you don't have one and add your case number. I can see that my card has been mailed yesterday and it has almost made it to its final destination (just left the distribution center that is 2hrs away from my post office).

Thank you!
I did not know that there is going to be a tracking number. That will make everything easier!

Just downloaded a case tracker app
My case is still on "New Card is being produced" hopefully it won't take a month or so to get to "Case was approved" :D

Ahahahaha you might be the first person on this forum praying to have his EAD delayed 😂

Ps. Honestly, I would expect your card to be shipped within 2 days. You can also follow a group “EAD expedite after fax request” or sth like that (just type it in the VisaJourney search box and you will find this group). Most of the people who get approved receive their card within a couple of days.

All USCIS envelopes state on them that they are "returned service requested" (like most government mail). This means that USPS is not allowed to forward them for security reasons.

Its not a USPS policy, it's a government policy.
