Hello, I'm on US for a month now with the K1 Visa. We are going to marry, but looks like in Tennessee we would need a Social Security Number(SSC) to marry. And looks like it's better  just get your Social Security Number after marry. Anyone has any information about?

1.  A SSN is not required to marry in TN.

2.  Most people find it better to get your Social Security number as soon as possible after arriving in the US.

Also, remember to marry and file for adjustment of status within 90 days after arrival in the US....

I've read conflicting things about getting the Social security # after getting married vs prior.  It is suppose to be easier to get a Social Security # before you get married.

However, I had no issue getting my wife a SSN a few weeks after we married.  Other option is when you file the I-485 for adjustment of status, you can check a box to request a SSN as part of that process.

Hello can you please tell me about you getting SSN of your wife after married? I am also married few weeks ago and i need my ssn soon. My husband cant add me to his health insurance, or buy property with both our names without my ssn nor i will be added to his bank account without an SSN. How long did you receive the SSN the time you applied it?

Hi.  We went to the local social security office and gave our paperwork and supporting documents to one of the workers who reviewed it and submitted in the system.  She got her social security card in the mail about 2 weeks later.
