You don't get a text for biometrics.   Did the third text include a case number?

Yes. When I pulled up the case number it said it was for fingerprinting fee.

Read closer.  The case number is for the i485

The text is as follows.  It says it is for the fingerprint fee for the i485, not the i485 itself.  (Nor the fee for the i485)

If it's for the i485, then it is very confusing verbiage.

Fingerprint Fee Was Received

On July 26, 2019, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxxxxx. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

There is no case number for fingerprint fee. The fingerprint fee received is associated with your case number and comes after the i485 case is received and assigned a number. If you pull it up on your USCIS account you'll find the "Case Received" status in the history of the case number.

Got it.  Thanks.  I got the paper letter today.  (Over 5 weeks after filing)  The paper letter is specifically states it is for the I-485.

Question: Can these NOA1 documents be used to extend her state ID?  (I also note that these are the first federal documents we have that now have her married name on them)

Depends on the state.   50 states, 50 different answers.   For this one,  Google and the state DMV website will be your friend

Actually when I got home and saw the actual letter,  it was only for the biometrics appointment.

So, we still have NOT gotten ANY NOA1 for the AOS paperwork.
Is there any way to get a copy of those documents (perhaps online?).  The status check online says I should have gotten them by July 31.

Hey! I have received my NOAs by text message on July 16th. Give it some more time, watch out for paper NOAs in your mailbox because some people never get texts or emails (I never got an email). But I do recommend writing to lockbox support email just in case, you can also try calling USCIS Contact center to ask whether they have your name in their database and if not, create a service request. That’s maximum you can do. If it takes too long like way passed 30 days and there is still nothing I would consider sending the package once again.  But as for right now I would give it some more time.

Wish you best of luck! I know it sucks but I’m sure you’re gonna be ok.

This experience is very helpful. I also filed using credit card form i-1450 last Aug. 23, No NOA yet. Im positive its just sitting there and waiting to be processed soon.

I received a "Request for Initial Evidence" for our I-485

Does does this differ from an RFE?  Is this normal?

Same.  RFE is easier to type than RFIE

Thanks.  Will this hold up her AP or EAD processing as well?

Potentially,  as an RFE on the i485 stops any further processing on the other applications until the RFE is responded to

Great.  More stress.  Already this is taking so long.  She wants to work and visit home.  No bueno.

Thank you for the reply.

As of yesterday my I-485 has moved to "Waiting for interview to be scheduled"

However there still is not a status change on the AP or EAD documents.  Both are in the status of "Received" and have been in this status since July 1.

Is this normal?  Should the status have changed?
