Good morning on July 1 was my interview we took all the documents the divorces of both as my boyfriend had been divorced twice I only took the last divorce, they gave me my passport and said that I should send the document or the first divorce that was missing along with  the passport and the confirmation of ds-160.

 I already sent them on Friday, July 6, to the American Embassy in the Dominican Republic,

 Someone knows what's next and what time it takes to receive answers from the consulate because I have my plane ticket purchased by the end of July

 I'm worried about this uncertainty☹️

I hope you haven't already purchased your flight tickets.  It might be several weeks to several months before your case clears review and administrative processing........I would guess, a few weeks at minimum.

It is just another wait I'm afraid.. There is no set time line for this becasue everybody's case is different  and every embassy has their own time line..

 

Purchasing your tickets before having your visa in hand was a very risky decision.. At every step of the process, you are informed not to make any definite plans like selling a house, quitting a job or buying any non refundable plane tickets. Where you not aware of this?

 

I hope that luck will be on your side and that your visa will be ready before your flight.

I hope for your sake that your breaking of several of the Cardinal VJ Travel Rules doesn't come back to haunt you !

• Don't ever make ANY travel plans or reservations, that cannot be refunded, transferred, rescheduled to another time.  
• Never make any travel plans without first having the passport in your hand, and the visa in the passport.

Most embassy's include this verbiage listed below in their P3 letters. As with any other step in this process, patience and knowing the fact that it's their timeline to finish items and not yours.

 

You are advised not to make any travel arrangements, not to dispose of your property or give up your job until the visa has been issued to you. The maximum validity of an fiancé(e) visa is six (6) months from the date of issuance. You must travel to the United States within that 6-month period. Please do not request an interview unless you have definite plans to move to the United States within six (6) months.

Most airlines allow a non-refundable ticket to be changed for a later flight with a change fee if you call them before the scheduled departure date.  The fee can be high and it depends on the airline and the type of ticket that you purchased.  To be prepared, you should call the airline to discuss your options in case your visa is not received before the end of July.  Good luck!

Yea, they usually charge the difference in ticket price plus a stiff fee...........crazy....
