I have another kind of rumor, we talked to an immigration lawyer, even though we filed the petition ourselves....We were told that they were requiring the ROC interviews if AOS was waived, but that it can go either way (possibly because of backlog), but to plan on having an interview, especially if you apply for naturalization.

lol .. that's what I said, minus talking to a lawyer

when you get your appointment letter do we have to make an appointment with the ACS center or do we just walk in 10 min ahead of the time on that particular day and show up with the letter for biometrics?

thank u

My husband and I arrived at 12:50 pm for our 1pm appointment. All you have to do is show up with your Biometric Appointment Letter, Green card, passport, drivers license, military id or any other state issued ids. We brought all of the ids just in case. They asked to see the appointment letter’s date and time, then they asked us to fill out a simple form with some Biometric info- height, weight, eye color ect. Then it was my husbands turn and they took fingerprints, a photo, and his signature. Afterward the place a Stamp on your Biometrics Appointment Letter. It seems that your spouse is allowed to attend as long as the office isn't busy and that there is seating available. If it was a busy office like in a metro city maybe they wont let the spouse come with.. Now starts the fun waiting time! 😅

Is it possible to show up with the Appointment letter, Green Card, and Driver License. I lost my passport and have not got the new one yet.

Yes, the main ids you MUST bring are the Biometric Letter, Green card, and either Your passport or drivers license. They just want at least 1 additional ID besides your green card just to verify that it’s you.😄

I think it mostly depends on how busy the local ASC Office is. The uscis office we attended told us that “their office is very small and never busy.” The front desk attendant said other larger offices are packed with appointments and running behind. I believe if you live in a larger city than your local office may take 2-4 weeks after receiving Extension letter to get a Biometrics  Appointment letter out to you. Hopefully it will come any day now!

Hi everybody!

We sent our package a few hours ago. It is supposed to arrive to Dallas, Texas on Friday. We are very hopeful that this process will have a positive outcome. In the meantime, I will be praying and praying. I don't really know what to expect nowadays with this administration.

Super question: we sent our package to Dallas, Texas as it was indicated on the USCIS website (we live in New York), but I see that everybody has sent to Vermont or California. Did we make a mistake?!! Please help...

No, you either send it Dallas or Pheonix, you didn't make a mistake. Vermont and California are the service centers (there are others too, like Nebraska, Texas). Once you get your case number, you will see where you file is being processed. For example, I submitted my package to Pheonix, AZ and it is now being processed in the California Service Center because my case number starts with WAC#

You're right! I'm sorry to overlooked it. We had a lot of issues with the adjustment of status (i.e., lost letters, duplicate appointments), that we are praying to have a very smooth journey this time.
